STREET VENDING IS NOT A CRIME SAYS PF
...adds that UPND is chasing traders from the streets without providing an alternative.

The opposition Patriotic Front (PF) has bemoaned the move by the New Dawn Administration to chase vendors out of the streets.

PF Member of the Central Committee in charge of Information and Publicity Raphael Nakacinda has argued in an interview that street vending is not a crime.

MCC Nakacinda says the New Dawn Administration is prematurely chasing vendors from the streets without providing an alternative.

“Street vending is not an offense that is why it exists and is called street vending. The only thing is that in Zambia, we have failed to put in place mechanisms to make sure that our people that are trading on the streets….it is conducive in terms of having facilities like for hygiene and many others,” he said.

“But in this case, the UPND government is prematurely chasing them out of the streets without offering them alternatives. We demand that that decision be rescinded until there is an alternative provided for our people on the street.”

MCC Nakacinda charged that the economy is in a mess under the New Dawn administration. He implored President Hakainde Hichilema to be considerate to the people on the street.

“Because the economy is really in a mess under the new dawn and life is very difficult. Now you even take away the little that people are making through their trade on the streets without an alternative. Even when you are cold hearted, that is not right. May President Hakainde Hichilema find in his heart some humanity and be considerate to the people on the street,” he said.

“That fellow he is sending out there to and harass people on the street, Garry Nkombo with his arrogance, they are going to face the consequences. The President keeps on saying that cadres who are trying to interfere with the work of the police they will be on their own. Nowadays we don’t even believe, we don’t believe what the President says because he says one thing then his people act differently.”

The MCC added that so far, what President Hakainde Hichilema has been saying is sheer rhetoric.

“So we don’t know whether that is him to feed the public with rhetoric and then act differently when it comes to the real issues. So far, the evidence suggests that whatever the President says is just rhetoric because his people are acting centrally to what to what he says,” he said

Please post for us and help us find our sister who went missing on Wednesday. She was last seen wearing a brown Chitenge and blue Croptop when she left home around 14hrs. Her name is Mary (Maria) Sikota, 17 years of age and a grade 10 pupil going to grade 11 next year at Chindwin 'A' Secondary School in Kabwe. After reporting the matter to the Police, we checked Kabwe Central Hospital Mortuary but to no avail. We're kindly appealing and pleading to general public, especially those in Kabwe to help us with any information that would lead us to our beloved sister.

*WILLIAM BANDA BE A FATHER OF PEACE AND NOT A GRANDFATHER OF VIOLENCE - PF YOUTHS*

As peace loving youths belonging to the former ruling party the PATRIOTIC FRONT we are distressed and disturbed by Mr. William Banda's appetite for violence in the forthcoming Kabwata by-election.

There is a video going round on Social Media of Mr. William Banda inciting the UPND cadres to arrest all PF youths with a view of stopping us from campaigning in Kabwata.

We are aware that Mr. Banda does not us the PF youths to campaign in Kabwata Constituency because he knows that the odds are against his political party and we are therefore appealing to the electoral commission of Zambia to intervene in this matter because Mr. Banda wants to make campaigning for the PF difficult in Kabwata using threats of arrests.

Mr. Banda as a senior citizen who has been in active politics since the UNIP days must set a good example to the youths of today by being a Father of peace and not Grandfather of violence.

Mr. Banda at his age must know better that the PF supporters he is intimating with unlawful arrests are not his rivals but his own Grandchildren, therefore, we are asking him to do some soul searching because no Grandfather would find pleasure and joy in threatening his own Grandchildren in the name of politics.

Ba Shikulu Ba Banda, please allow us the PF youths to campaign in Kabwata peacefully. If you want to kill us, well, you will kill us but God is the ultimate judge - remember you are in your evenings and one day you will be standing in front of
God on judgment day. God bless you GrandPa Banda.

Nakachinda reveals that there are four ministers in the UPND government that have amassed wealth within the first three months and has challenged HH7 to find out from UPND backbenchers.

Musamba: Why from backbenchers the biggest thieves? State house shall investigate them any culprit involved in corruption. Nakachinda should give evidence to institutions tasked to handle such allegations not stories based on innuendos and Kachepa.

Patriotic Front party (PF) Kabwata constituency aspirant Gabriel Kibombwe says the threats of violence against PF supporters that will be campaigning in the Kabwata bye-election confirms that the UPND party has always been a violent party pretending to be victims.

Speaking exclusively to Smart Eagles, Mr. Kibombwe said the UPND government is abusing the well intended provision of law that allows for citizens arrest to legitimize illegalities, promote systematic brutality and suppress democracy.

“As a PF National Youth Secretary and aspiring candidate for Kabwata MP, I am upset at the arrogance of the UPND leadership and more so the silence from President Hakainde Hichilema on the matter”. He said

Mr. William Banda’s record of violence is well documented from his time in MMD and looks like the senior citizen is determined to scale up such barbaric crimes.
