An Army enlisted man from Chicago, Illinois was one of the two servicemen (other being Pvt George Elliot) that seen the heartbeat from a oscilloscope of the first wave of 186 Japanese planes entering Hawaii to bomb Pearl Harbor. After debating what the two saw, they forwarded the information to Army Headquarters. They were told to disregard it.

For the Christmas spirit, here is one of the most iconic photos in American History. George Washington leading the Continental Army in what’s known as “The Delaware Crossing” on the night of December 25th, 1776.

Did you know?
George Washington had organized an attack with 2,400 troops (3,000 less than planned) and won the Battle of Trenton on December 26th, 1776 which ultimately captured two-thirds of the Hessian force. The battle lifted morale and inspired many re-enlistments and helped turn the tide of the war.
