Overwhelmed with biz owner guilt? 🍑

✨ YOU ARE NOT ALONE ✨

…Unfortunately it is quite common as business owners to feel a sense of guilt when taking time away. Whether that’s for a midweek lunch with a friend, a weekend away to reset or simply finishing early as you have completed all your tasks.

To be honest with you, I struggle with it too. Especially since being a mum.

BUT, we can work on this and find a way to overcome these horrible feelings. At the end of the day we are our own boss and we need to set the boundaries and enforce positive habits.

How to overcome it:
🌟 Accept the way you are feeling instead of being in denial about it.
🌟 Stop setting unrealistic expectations on yourself so you can make positive changes.
🌟 Connect and talk with other business owners who can relate.

I promise it will get easier! Remember having a healthy balance is GOOD. Hustle culture is NOT good. Work out a weekly routine that suits you and your lifestyle 💛

Anyone else find saying “NO” really hard sometimes? 🍑 (save this post for whenever you need a reminder to say no)

I used to really struggle with this one but I have gotten so much better at it and you can to with these simple tips:
⁣
🌟 Practice saying no to anything that isn't a HELL YES. If you are saying yes to avoid disappointing someone you should say no.
⁣
🌟 You do not need to explain why you are saying no so cut to the chase and avoid long explanations.
⁣
🌟 Don't feel the need to apologise for saying no. This is your business, you decide what work you are taking on... Not the client.
⁣
🌟 Stop putting so much pressure on yourself to say yes to EVERYTHING. Take on jobs that you are 100% passionate about. ⁣

I have tried switching my mentality from people pleasing to: If I want to pursue my dreams and ideas I will need to start saying NO more often than yes ✨

How do you have time for your own content?!? It seems impossible for me!

How do you make time to work on your own business? I never have any time!!!

✨ NEWS FLASH ✨

Start treating your business like one of your clients or customers.

Yes it is always at the bottom of my to do list because client work always comes first. They’re the reason I get to do what I love every single day!

However you HAVE to make time for you and your business. Some days are longer than others just so I can get work for my biz done but I see it as a non-negotiable just like my clients work… 🥰

My Tips:
- Time block hours into your schedule for your own business and me time
- Have a CEO day, I have my Friday afternoons blocked for biz work
- Adjust your mindset, your business is important and should be a priority too

This shot gives me golden hour vibes!

I have had a lot of enquiries about when I am back taking on product photography clients and to be honest the answer is ‘I still don’t know.’

Daisie is only 8 weeks old and I’m just not ready to take on shoots yet as I’m craving as much uninterrupted time with her as possible. Photography is a huge process and demands so much of my time. It’s something that I LOVE doing and will get back to soon… Most likely in a couple of months 🥰
