Today Is MMIW Awareness Day. It won’t take you much time to google and find absolutely horrific statistics; but behind those statistics is somebody’s relative or friend. Today we honour them and put a spotlight on all the lost souls.

Our Mom/ Aunty Krista Fox is walking across Canada beginning in Feb of 2022 to raise awareness for MMIW. We ask that you go to her page Krista’s Kilometres for MMIW and give it a like and follow, she has an online auction set up monthly to raise funds as well as updates and shirts available for purchase.

Our guest this Sunday is Kaleb Dahlgren!!

For those of you who don’t know.. KALEB DAHLGREN is the former assistant captain of the Humboldt Broncos hockey team and one of thirteen survivors of the tragic bus crash. Shortly after getting out of the hospital, Dahlgren began his studies at York University and joined the York Lions varsity hockey team. The founder of Dahlgren’s Diabeauties, a program that supports children with type 1 diabetes, Kaleb Dahlgren shares his message of hope and healing with groups across North America. Most recently Kaleb has published his book titled Crossroads “Crossroads is the story of Kaleb Dahlgren, a young man who survived the bus crash and faced life after the tragedy with resiliency and positivity. From a childhood spent learning to live with type 1 diabetes to his remarkable recovery from severe brain trauma that astounded medical professionals, Dahlgren documents a life of perseverance, gratitude and hope in the wake of enormous obstacles and life-altering tragedy.”

Shalen gives back to the youth in a variety of ways highlighting Indigenous success, and reconciliation with non-Indigenous youth. Shalen Gives back to the youth with coaching sports at a variety levels from grassroots to elite level. Shalen is in recovery from addictions and this has helped him have a better understanding of himself and now to inspire others to live healthy lifestyle.

Jason Chakita was also a former guest on foxing around who shared his story of perseverance after getting out of the gang life and becoming a leader in his community! Jason made his musical debut on the song “Its the Life” off the 3 Eye Hip Album!
