Teardrops From A Clown wins in the Marginalised UK, Disabled category at the Big Syn Film Fest - the world's biggest sustainability film festival

“Teardrops From A Clown” from “[Movie Making Media (Dir: Jack RH O’Sullivan, Prod: Rhys Beardsley & Thomas Woods was declared as a “Marginalised UK, Disabled category” at the 2024 Big Syn International Film Festival Awards on Friday 8th Nov, in a gala awards ceremony at Curzon Soho in London.

The Big Syn International Film Festival is the world’s biggest sustainability film festival, reaching over 50 million in 120 countries, inspiring them to act on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and make positive changes for the environment, society and economy.

A Grand Jury comprised of OSCAR, BAFTA and EMMY award-winners and leaders from the sustainability, business, media and policy such as Roberta Boscolo (WMO, Climate and Energy Lead, United Nations), Baroness Bennett (House of Lords), Prof. Ioannis Ioannou (London Business School's Sustainability Guru), Christine Choi (Professor, Tisch School of the Arts, New York University), Peggy Rajski (Oscar-winning filmmaker), Elena Andreicheva (OSCAR and BAFTA award-winning filmmaker), Martina Amati (BAFTA award-winning filmmaker), Steve Smith (BAFTA award-winning Director), and Alex Lockwood (BAFTA award-winning filmmaker), selected the winners of the 2024 Big Syn International Film Festival from over 500 films and over 300 charity films received from over 120 countries.

The winners will be publicly announced on Europe's biggest screen, London's iconic Piccadilly Lights on 14th Nov to the roaring support and cheers of scores of onlookers, filmmakers and their supporters.

"We are so honoured by this award, when we submitted to Fortean Film Festival after seeing a fellow filmmaking friend's film shown there and have a great reception, we knew this was a festival to submit, especially when we saw their Drama Film category. When we received the email saying we won the Bronze Award for Best Drama Film - we were over the moon, and I am and always will be so proud of our fantastic cast and crew, all of whom are like family.

We couldn't have made this film without the tender love and care everyone brought to the project and to the commitment to bringing awareness to Autism.

Receiving this award, is a gift to us all, and showcases the talents and hard work of the Teardrops team! I am always going to hold this film close to my heart and cannot wait to show this to the world on World Autism Awareness Day next April!"

Here is Billy Chandler who was our fantastic Production Runner on “Teardrops From A Clown”, holding our amazing trophy from Fortean Film Festival. We couldn’t have done our film without him!

Runners are the most understated part of a film crew. They are so invaluable, a key part in the filmmaking process. When you see a film in the movie theater or online you always hear about the director, Cinematographer and heads of department and the runners are hardly discussed when in reality they help keep the film going. Whether it’s helping being a stand in for the cast when prepping a shot, making the refreshment drinks, making sure the lunch has arrived and being there always eager to help the process.

I’d like to take this moment to thank Billy and all the runners in the media industry and ask we all remember to see the Runners as just as important as the other crew members.

We’re happy to announce our other lead for Teardrops from a Clown, Leo Long who will play playing Josh! Leo previously worked with us on The Projectionist as Darren. He also has previously worked as Stevie in I Used to Be Famous and Alexander Hill in Professor T. We very much looking forward to forward to working with Leo again and we look forward to seeing the chemistry between Leo and Ian, we reckon we could see some magic!
