🎄Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!❄️

This is my absolute FAVORITE time of year (yes, even while working through those bittersweet moments when I find myself missing folks like my Nana something fierce).💕

My wedding anniversary, Christmas, my birthday, and NYE all fall within a short 1.5 week window! It's basically an epic week-long celebration of sorts that I look forward to every year.🥂

This year was/is all about simplicity, true self-care, and surrounding myself with those who love me and have my best interests at heart. So far: mission accomplished.

💗No matter who you are/what you do or do not believe, I hope you have a peaceful and healthy holiday season.💗

I’m sorry it’s not like you wanted it to be. Truly.

And as we approach the holidays I want to remind you that everyone is missing something.

Everyone wishes something was different…

Even when their Facebook posts don’t show it.

Some families hide their gut wrenching brokenness with unmatched dignity.

Some couples close the curtains before they unload their issues.

Friendships are always plastered everywhere when they begin…

But end silently slipping away without you noticing.

Everyone’s smile is in spite of something.

And you are not alone.

Whether you’re lonely at a table for 1 or 41 tonight.

You’re just like everyone else.

We all cover up a limp with a smile somewhere…

And this time of year tries to expose it with a little more force.

The holidays sting a little in some area for most of us.

And if you don’t have who you wish you did in your life for this upcoming holiday….

Know that even Jesus ended up supping with 12 mismatched people.

Even He didn’t live without the ache of losing something…of wishing something was different.

So whether your family is perfect and your friends are delightful...

Or whether you are on your couch dreading the days to come…

I just wanted to remind you that many will cut turkeys holding back tears.

Many will string lights through tangled heartstrings and broken histories.

Many have. Many do. Many will.

And if you’re one of the many…

I’m sorry for that.

And I believe that He is too. ❤️"
