🔨Cracking the Codex🔨

We may have run out of Codices to annotate and break down into slides but Games Workshop kept us in new Detachments with Skysplinter Assault for the Drukhari.

Ed & Scrivo were joined by Archon Tom to talk through the new detachment and its merits and pitfalls (he took them to 1st place at last weeks Saffron Slam GT, so spoilers: they are not too bad!)

Another glorious weekend of Warhammer for the 6++ team!

Joe went 5-0 at Warhammer World with Custodes, placing second and narrowly missing out on first! Joe is a true Custodes main and it’s great to see him rewarded.

Speaking of faction mains, Rob K went 4-1 at the same event with his beloved Drukhari, placing 9th! Typical genius from him as always.

Former Votann main and recently reinstated Drukhari main Tom won his first GT at Saffron Slam, after a very nervy couple of games into great players today and more than a bit of luck. So good to have the Dark Kin back out, thanks to our very own Lewis Elmes for putting on the best spirited event in UK 40K as always.

Dark Angels main Paul made the top ten at the same event after two very tough matches on Sunday, but won the people’s hearts!

Elsewhere at Northampton Daemons main Franco finished 3-2 with another great showing on his Daemons and Tyranids main Davey ran afoul of some rough match ups there too. A cracking weekend for the team and we will be back in action very soon!

Day 1 complete!

Over at the Saffron Slam, both Paul and Tom are still in contention for a podium- Paul is 3-0 and Tom is 2-1-0.

The Northampton Super Major has Franco at 2-1 and Davey at 1-2.

Finally, at Warhammer World Joe is sitting pretty at 3-0, and Rob is 2-1.

A strong effort from everyone involved, let’s go again tomorrow!

Aaaand done!

Anyone who has played a team tournament before knows that team events are the best way to play 40K, and this was no exception. We took 3 teams to the ITT, which featured 94 teams from around Europe, and an incredible time was had by all!

First of all, a special shout out to Jack Doddy. He came and coached for all 3 teams, tracking all the predictions across all the games and was a genuine hero.

Alpharius managed to finish 7th! They went 4-1, their only loss a narrow defeat to Try Hard A team, who came 4th and went undefeated.

Omegon came 28th. They lost a nail biter 51-49 in round 3 and then got punished by playing into Try Hard A pairing down, but still a fantastic effort!

Legion finished 55th. You couldn’t get more Pluse like if you tried- they finished 2-1-2 and had multiple teams say they were their favourite game of the weekend. Top effort boys!

The three captains will be on the podcast Tuesday to discuss the event, and Chris will do an in-depth break down of Alpharius’ match ups in the final episode of Road to the ITT!

Next up we have Alpharius! They decided to wait until the balance dataslate to start preparing… this didn’t go well. There’s also question marks as to whether Tom will actually have his army at the event, having left it at Glasshammer 2 weeks ago.

It’s a farewell tour for Aeldari, CSM and Deathwing Knights as we know it- let’s see if the guys can make the most of it!
