Veda Maker Conway of Berlin, NH is a master of scamming. She is well-known by areas town officials as a sick animal hoarder. Her landlord at 19 Maine Ave. in Rumford, before the town informed him of who she was, was kind enough to let her get free animals from people who could no longer care for them. She got 100 chickens and ducks. Half of them died due to neglect and exposure to predators. She keeps some of these animals on the porch at the apartment she is stealing, leading to flies and a messy appearance. She doesn’t care she’s mentally ill. She is wacked enough to walk 4 miles to go to her landlords property where she doesn’t pay rent. That’s when she goes up. The landlord checks on the animals and half the time they are starving and without water. Animal control will hopefully take these poor animals from her. She is so manipulative that she often gets food samaritans to enable her actions. They feel bad for her but if they knew what she was doing to these animals and her history, they would not help. She has had animals taken away multiple times and even had her husband have to call the state to come get the animals when she just up and left. Real winners.
