It’s crazy to think I’ve been to 26 countries in under 2 years (27 if you count India since I did travel a bit here too 😁)! Not sharing this to flex; this is a life I never imagined was possible for anyone, let alone me, so I’m super grateful to be living this incredible life, traveling the world, and getting to experience new things each day. 😇
▶️ Passion, Meet Profession: Over the past 6-7 years, I’ve turned my passion of travel and filming into my profession. After working for four years in the corporate world, I knew I wanted to live a life where I had the freedom of time, location, and money. So I quit my job and decided to work on my YouTube and Instagram, and nothing happens overnight but this can be quite a lucrative business once you learn the ropes. 🙌🏼
▶️ My Income Streams: Funding this lifestyle takes more than luck and is only possible if you build diverse income streams for yourself. I have a YouTube video explaining my income streams but here are a few: brand collaborations, YouTube ad revenue, affiliate marketing, sponsored trips, hosting group trips, and my online store. I have a free YouTube masterclass that can help you get started (link in my bio). A lot of my trips are now sponsored but I also did a 5-month trip that was self-funded and ended up making way more than what I spent on that trip by doing brand collaborations. 😁
▶️ Ballin’ on a Budget: I’ve had to learn to travel smart, get good deals, figure out how best to spend my money (figuring out credit cards and maximizing earning points is a game changer). 💳
▶️ Connections: I’m lucky to have friends/family all around the world who I sometimes end up staying with during my travels which in hindsight helped me save a bit on hotel costs (shoutout to everyone I’ve crashed with hehe) 🥰

⬇️Things I'd never do (again) as a budget traveler⬇️
Here are some things I'd never do again when I'm traveling solo and on budget. I hope this can inspire someone to not do the same stupid mistakes haha
• change places/destinations every 1-3 days (transportation will be one of the biggest expenses on your travels and moving places often will cut much more from not only your budget, but also time and experiences. I found it much much better to be based in one place, meet fun people and explore around. Accommodations are often discounted if you stay more days.)
• book exact flights before you're sure how long can you stay (happened to me twice already:))) be careful about this one - don't book your stay in Sri Lanka longer than the month long visa allows you to stay - costed me a spot on their Black list😄. Also don't book a $600 flight to New York from May to October if you can only stay 3 months 💀💀 #dumb)
• judge people based on the first impression - When I first started to sleep in hostels I felt intimidated by the amount of people who wanted to talk to me and judged them by my first impression of them. I still do that sometimes tbh but trying to remember that every single person is different and sometimes while traveling it's hard to connect with someone immediately but after some time you find out that person is so interesting and can teach you so much.
• saying yes to a sh*tty volunteering experience - I know I encouraged a lot of you to go volunteering BUT - please check very well before you start - what actually will be your tasks to do and What exactly do you get in return. I got scammed on that too and wasn't very easy to quit with almost no cash left (:

• don't go on a boat with a guy you just met on the street in Vietnam just because you can't afford going on the actual organized boat tour 💀💀💀
