Her distinctive voice was heard on radio jingle IDs multiple times a day on stations throughout the country, and helped to define the sound of Top 40 AM radio in the ‘60s.

7/5/24 - It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to vocalist Trella Hart, who passed away on the morning of July 4. Trella's voice and enthusiastic sound electrified top-40 radio in the 1960s and 1970s. She moved to Dallas in 1966 and was signed to an exclusive contract with PAMS Productions. This resulted in two very successful radio jingle packages, "Swiszle" and "Fun Vibrations", as well as numerous custom projects and commercials. In a very short time Trella's unique voice and laugh could be heard on radio stations coast-to-coast and around the world. She went on to sing jingles and commercials for other producers as well, including JAM. She loved performing jazz standards at various clubs and venues. Trella will be missed not only for her musical talent, but as a warm and fun person who was a delight to listen to, work with, and be with. RIP, Trella, and thank you. -Jon Wolfert / PAMS / JAM

We have posted a brief montage of some of her early jingle work here: www.jingles.com/audio/stash/TrellaMontage.mp3

He helped to define the sound of ‘50s rock!

A very sad day today as we hear of the loss of one of rock n' roll's great pioneers, Duane Eddy.
Duane's distinct twang woke many of the guitar heroes that followed to the power of the instrument, and cemented his status as the inspiration for so much of the music that followed.
More importantly though, he was a wonderful man, and we know he shared great times with Buddy on the package tours of the late 1950s. They bonded over the guitar, and though Buddy never became a Gretsch man, he loved the neck on Duane's. Like Buddy, who made the Stratocaster an icon, Duane did the same for the Gretsch 6120, and showed the world the new breed of guitarist, super cool, innovative, and passionately dynamic.
Duane became the most successful instrumentalist in rock music history, with 15 top-40 singles from 1958 to 1963 and 100 million worldwide sales, and the low note guitar riff he pioneered and sent rumbling through speakers the world over paved the way for everything from Day Tripper to Born To Run to Enter Sandman. Duane's imprint is written across decades of popular music and people will always admire his legacy.
For now though, our most heartfelt thoughts go to his wife Deed, his family and everyone privileged enough to call him a friend.

Happy birthday, Buddy!!

Happy birthday Buddy Holly.

Today would have been Buddy's 87th birthday and as we may mourn the passing of a truly great rock n' roll star, we also give thanks for the music and legacy he left behind. We also spare a thought for Maria Elena Holly who continues to work with The Buddy Holly Educational Foundation running projects and promoting his legacy to the world.

Happy 87th Birthday Buddy Holly, rock n’ roll in peace!

R..I.P. Gary Wright. His entertainment career started as stage and TV child actor. Wright was in a couple of bands in high school before deciding to pursue a medical degree, which led to studies in Europe, where he met Island Records head honcho Chris Blackwell, who arranged for him to join a UK band that soon became the on-again-off-again band Spooky Tooth. Wright played on George Harrison's All Things Must Pass during the first Spooky Tooth hiatus and later worked on other Harrison solo projects. Wright's one big solo album came out in the summer of 1975. The title song became a staple of Album Rock radio and Love Is Alive was a moderately big song, too. Wright passed away at 80 after battling Parkinson's and dementia.
