Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the risks of studying in person at Tufts University have never been more dire. For the past two years, a sense of foreboding has undeniably permeated the minds of Tufts’ students and the campus itself, indicative of the insecurities experienced by many as the current pandemic rages on. These anxieties, fears and concerns are now being represented in the Tufts administration’s latest artistic endeavor, The Mods (2020–), which was recently installed during summer 2020 on the Vouté Tennis Courts and Fletcher parking lot....

Fresh takes on the horrors of modern romance are few and far between. Romantic comedies abound, highlighting momentous meetings and grandiose gestures. However, Mimi Cave’s directorial debut, “Fresh,” subverts the genre of the romantic comedy, a meet-cute turned meat-cute — a gruesome exploration of the physical and emotional degradation of a woman bound to a cannibal. “This was a very different telling of a meeting between two people that starts off one way and obviously becomes something else,” Sebastian Stan said in a roundtable interview with The Daily Californian....

The Berkeley Student Cooperative is a series of 17 houses on campus designed to provide housing for low-income Bay Area students, each with a specific theme and living environment. Often, for those from a low-income background, the co-ops are one of the only forms of housing available for us to keep studying at UC Berkeley and in the Bay at large....

If something a student learns in her class helps to illuminate their own lived experiences, Crystal Chang will consider it a job well done. That job, however, does not come without sacrifice. Chang is a continuing lecturer in the Interdisciplinary Social Science Programs at UC Berkeley. More specifically, she teaches courses in the political economy and global studies majors. Being a continuing lecturer means Chang has completed the equivalent of 12 semesters of lecturing in the same department and an excellence review....

Tufts University has recently changed the COVID-19 policies for the Spring 2022 athletic season for all sports teams and clubs. In the Spring of 2020, athletes had to practice with masks and were required to take rapid tests on the morning of a competition. Now, athletes do not need to wear masks during practices, and no longer need to get tested on competition days....

In January, three UC Berkeley fraternities were officially unrecognized. Now, the ASUC Senate may revoke funding for the International Fraternity Council, or IFC. At the meeting, senators discussed a resolution that, if passed, would revoke funding of the IFC until it has made efforts to address sexual violence and sexual harassment issues and become more environmentally sustainable. “There is no reason the resolution should not have full support,” ASUC Senator Kalliope Zervas said during the meeting....
