๐ฟ ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ช-๐ธ๐ ๐ฝ๐๐๐๐ค, sometimes referred to as the little Niagara Falls of the Philippines, is located on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines.
๐ฟSituated in Barangay Barboanan, approximately 18 kilometers from the city proper of Bislig, Tinuy-an Falls is a three-tiered waterfall, with the highest cascade towering 55 meters. It measures an impressive 95 meters wide, making it one of the widest waterfalls in the country and rightfully earning the title "โ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฝ๐๐๐๐ค ๐ ๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ โ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐ก๐๐๐๐ค".
๐ฟThe name ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ช-๐๐ originates from the Cebuano word "๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ช๐ -๐๐," which translates to"๐๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฅ ๐ ๐ฃ ๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ ๐ ๐ฃ ๐๐ ๐๐." This name is connected to a legend tied to the waterfall's history. According to the story, the native people of Magdiwata Mountain were enslaved by a tribe from the hinterlands of Agusan. Fed up with their mistreatment and forced labor, the Magdiwata Mountain people devised a plan to liberate themselves. They rowed across the river on a bamboo raft called a "gakit," leaped into the water, and propelled the raft carrying their captors over the falls.
๐ฟAs a testament to the grandeur of the province of Surigao del Sur, there's no better representation than the majestic Tinuy-An Falls of Bislig.
๐ฟDespite the journey to reach this side of Mindanao being quite lengthy, the breathtaking beauty of Tinuy-An Falls remains a compelling draw for tourists. It stands as the crown jewel of the province, capturing the hearts of those who venture to this amazing natural wonder. Though the journey may be long, it's undoubtedly a journey well worth taking.
