We are watching the events unfolding in Eastern Europe with great regret and somberness. Of course, we hope diplomacy and cooler heads prevail and there is not a war. If there is, it would be the first major infantry war with our own soldiers we’ve begun since Iraq in 2003. Let us hope that if fate rings that dark bell and our country starts a major war that the cause for which we fight is both just and not in vain. That the values of democracy and human rights are our motivation and that we conduct ourselves with the utmost chivalry and humanity.
