I believe more upcycling videos will be here soon😅 The sari itself was from @prapti who gifted me the sari after i fell in love with the sari after wearing it once . Was actually planning to make a dress from it from last year and finally made it last week. Took me 2 whole days. For the inner fabric i used my old white dress. I am actually so glad with how it turned out❤️🙆♀️🙆♀️ #reels #upcycling
A little blooper from the previous video 🙆♀️ @sabina byanju suntala thrower🍊🍊 #blopper
Like i said in my previous videos as well these pictures were all the wag back from 2067 during my barha (surya darshan ceremony) . The sari itself was brand new at that time and for this video it was my second time wearing it. My face was messed up in pictures because i was crying all day for idk what reason (probably because i was 9 year old). Either way grateful that at least i have some pictures lol. #reelsfbシ
Tried a new editing style where i could somehow insert bts clips too🤓Here’s everything i know about the look (please do correct me if i get it wrong) 1. Putu nang: its basically cholo but there are names of the patterns. This one is called shree pakshya( i asked the fabric shop’s auntie) . 2. Makashi: its a typical newa ornament worn as earring . It is pot shaped with a hook attached. 3. Nya pu sikha: literal translation would 5 chains as it is made of 5 golden chains containing multiple strings creating a web which is attached by peacock or moon shaped structure. And it is worn on head ( not sure if it’s worn on right or left)4. Tayo : Tayo is a golden amulet and it is large. It has stones embedded on and designs too( they have meaning too) At the end it has snake like hood structure and under the hood it has a design that is meant to be a symbol of swyambu. 5. Pyakha aangu : Literal translation is dance ring . It also comes in various designs embedded on it( i just have the one in plain design)Well about churi and flower , i dont think i will have to say anything😅 Btw the biscuit was actually really mitho. Got it for Rs.30 a packet of 6 badam biscuit. Ikr steallllllll… #reelsWould prefer a feedback on the editing though yk since i do all of my editing ( i doubt anyone made it down paddhai yeta sama )

While the rest of the communities celebrate Bada Dashain, Newa community celebrate Mohni Nakha at the time ( though sanskritization has caused Newa community to call it Dashain as well but people are finally getting aware)The video potrays some important elements of the occasion.Instead of red tika, Newa community applies Bhuwu sinha( orange tika) and Mohni ( Black residue left after burning oil ) along with tulbula (red clothed mala) and jamara.Video credit Ronit Cha GuThee #reels #festival #newa
