While taking some time off for myself to detox, de-stress and overall relax, it happened that it was during the same time I turned a year older, so, as a little treat we took ourselves to Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster.
The whole atmosphere of the park is spacious, blooming with people and of course, the animals. From lemurs crawling around your feet, to polar bears having a dip in their private pool, to hearing the lions wake up from their naps and making the kids around us silent for a few seconds.
From research around the park... 'play is incredibly important to lion cub development. They learn vital hunting skills through wrestling and stalking each other.' Furthermore, 'over 50% wild lions remaining today share their landscape with people, outside formally protected areas like national parks.'
Have a look at the most grumpy lion we saw at the park, who wasn't appreciated being woken up by the other male in the section over! The most gorgeous of animals!

FINAL REVEAL!
I've had the pleasure of working alongside KieransKuriosities to create a new logo and thank you note for the business! After primary research and communication I was able to piece together exactly what the brand represents and decided to give physical artwork a try...
Fossils, paleontology, dinosaurs and nature were the key themes to take into account.
Kierans Kuriosities is based on curiosity you would find in cupboards... interesting trinkets and fossils to tell stories! I wanted to have a story telling terrarium as the main focus of the logo, along with fossils nature and skulls/bones to bring out the main themes.
These are my outcomes and I recommend you go give this creative page some love!

TIME FOR THE REVEAL!
The lovely Trench Girl Crafts asked for a whole new look for her page and shop! This included a new logo, a thank-you card and a business card! So here's a little sneak peak into what i've been working on!
From communication I knew she wanted something relating to what she does and her job, the main feature being nature and the outdoors and to include the lovely colour of orange for her iconic appearance. Everything she creates is handmade, so having typography that feels personal and handwritten was important to me. The logo I created by hand and scanned it digitally to work on it and include some tribal patterns to bring her personality into her business. By keeping her up-to-date on what I was doing and working on, I was able to alter and change anything to her wishes.
It's really important to take into account what the business represents and what the whole business stands for. Always recommend primary research too!
I have really enjoyed this project and please go and give her some love!

Find me where the wild things are.
I've took this route many times, but i've never felt the urge to stay in this woodland for hours and hours on end than I did yesterday. The beautiful autumn colours painted the scenery, along with crunching of leaves under the walking boots, the sharp cold strikes of wind behind the ears and the tingling cold fingertips of mine while shooting these shots. We have entered another lockdown, but don't let that take you away from the wonderful autumn nature. Keep fit, active and clear your mind when you need it! Keep safe and keep in contact with each other!

This post is a little overdue, but I admired how these images turned out. The woodland seemed quiet, the susurration of leaves in the slight breeze, the living roof of leaves and branches really transfixed your eye. The walk was hot, but we had a crunchy ground, splashes of water from streams, roosting birds and green fountains. Coming across what appeared to be an old mill/old factory building, was like arriving at a whole new world, stepping back in time. Venturing onto a set of old train tracks, admiring the grass peeking up between the slats and metal that was rusted and broken. The building had fragments of memories attached to it. It was a beautiful mess, from boarded windows, shabby and damp wood to fractured slate roofs.
So much to cherish when you have a few moments spare.

The hike I took today turned out to be very elegant. It was so peaceful and noiseless, that time felt like it halted, if it wasn't for the natural springs and rivers recalling me of how artistic the country-side is. You can really catch the landscapes if you know where to travel too. Places like these are my comfortable places, away from society, away from the noise and the hassle from reality. They're just places to find and do absolutely nothing.

Experimenting with new equipment recently and continuing to work with make up, I decided to do a photoshoot and test out new lights, angles and poses. Very fun to make, direct and make your model feel as comfortable as possible.
Natural shots are my particular favourite. Seeing the model in their normal form, no rush and no position holding.

Definitely going to be doing this a lot more in the future!

''Mysterious Woodland.'' [2020]

While the thunder rumbled above us, we elected to take a drive and do some adventuring into a woodland we have never been in before, located in Bradfield. Not a single other individual was in there, just the noise of birds, insects and the branches below our feet.
Some would say, it was eerie... but I would answer peaceful and comfortable.

I needed to produce a daydream series to allow the audience to use their imagination and escape their modern reality. This group has a red theme which captivates the story of Little Red Riding Hood and playful creativity.

''We Reap What We Sow.'' [2017]

I did this project primarily because farming does not get enough recognition. As they are providers - this project, back in 2017, was to show the features when it comes to the types of farming. whether it was Dairy or Agricultural.
The intention was to study at the beauty of farmland, the scene and the job in motion instead of deliberate posing.

Coming from a farming background myself, I desired to bring attention to what farmers do for the country all day, every day - the work is never-ending. This series was to spread awareness in supporting British Farmers and your local produce. Keeping it safe for the environment as it's made in the field next door, down the road or across your city.

"I love the countryside, don't you?" [2020]

The aim of this series was to capture dropped litter in areas that are considered to be attractive and beautiful, specifically residential and villages.
This is to make the public aware of the reality of people's actions. Especially, when it comes to the problem of wildlife and farm animals.

What kind of litter you might ask? Take a pick from chocolate bar wrappers, crisp packets, glass in farm fields and walls, cans, plastic bottles, used tissues and wipes, alcohol glass bottles, plastic bags and more.

In some of these images, it's shown that nature is trying to cover up or overtake the sin that humans have made, but I'm here to show what is being ignored by the majority of the public, and to bring awareness to this problem, whether it's to residents, tourists, local council or the government. It needs to stop.

''Fear Photography'' [2018]

The proposal of this project was to bring Anxiety to the surface of awareness, as this unpleasant disturbance is typically avoided to dodge circumstances presented to individuals.
Anxiety can be caused by various things, but it's how somebody acts and controls themselves that determines their responses. It can be so heavy that they can create an unbreakable chain of events.
The aim was to help understand Anxiety and also break down the emotion to improve what's essential. If people are aware of the cycle and steps, they might be able to start progression in their anxieties and provide closure.

Welcome to Chantrey Media and Design!
My name is Abigail Chantrey and I'm a 22-year-old creator based in Sheffield, UK.
Photography and Graphic Design has been a passion of mine, which is why I started studying to a professional standard. My work is expressed mostly as freelance, but I specifically enjoy capturing the beauty that others might overlook or disregard.

Nevertheless, Photography is only one of the mediums I create, I have digitally made posters and notices for Bateman's Brewery situated in Lincolnshire, who advertised with my finals online and primarily, and have also created a logo for a smaller business in Sheffield who has printed versions and uses the logo digitally on their online purchases. Currently, I continue to inspire myself and build my abilities with an openness to new challenges and work.

With involvement working in a studio environment, I have produced portraits, advertisements and posters for projects, however, I follow the direction of nature photography along with documentary and raising awareness for campaigns. I've discovered that my work tends to revolve around raising awareness and it's becoming a common theme throughout my work. Previously, I've focused on mental health, harassment in a variety of locations, farming and recently, litter picking. By being able to deliver a statement to the audience is my overall goal.
