TOPIC: Determinations – A KEY TO POSSIBILITY
OVERVIEW SCRIPTURE: And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 1 Kings 18:21.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When the mind is made up, anything is possible.
MESSAGE:
It has been confirmed that the mind of man is the gateway to the world of possibility. When the mind is made up, anything is possible.
Many years ago, I had a programme at Kogi State University, Anyigba, Kogi State, Nigeria. In the programme, I was supposed to preach on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning and evening, and then on Thursday.
I had a very hectic schedule the previous week. On the Tuesday of the meeting, after preaching and ministering in our weekly Healing and Deliverance Service, which ended around 2pm, I thought of how I would spend nothing less than four hours on the road trip from Abuja to Kogi State. I imagined how rough the road was. Then my body said, “Reschedule this meeting”.
So, I picked up the phone and called the pastor at Anyigba and told him that I would be coming for the programme the next day and that someone else should stand in my place to preach that Tuesday evening. I told him how I had a hectic schedule the previous week, and how I just finished ministering at the Healing and Deliverance Service, and so I needed a little rest. I told him I may not be able to be on the road for four hours and then preach in the evening.
Then he said, “Alright sir. We will be expecting you tomorrow sir”.
I went further to ask him how everything was at the venue of the programme, and he said, “Everything is fine. People have been coming to the venue of the program since 12pm in the afternoon for a program that was to hold by 6:30pm in the evening. The place is already thickly filled with people”.
When he said that people had begun to gather since 12 o’clock, the tiredness in me died. All of a sudden, my mind saw how possible the journey would be. Immediately, I left Abuja for Anyigba, and arrived at the venue of the program before evening.
This was because I got a piece of information that changed my mind and moved my body. Once my mind was adjusted by the information, the body moved. Truly, when the mind is made up, anything is possible.
Remember this: When the mind is made up, anything is possible.
ASSIGNMENTS:
Make up your mind to surmount the obstacles and seeming impossibilities of life.
Refuse to think impossibility. Renew your mind with the Word of God.
PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from impossibility mentality. I receive the grace to renew my mind. I believe I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
