Maybe the worst advert visual I hae posted thusfar. This crazy advert for Krazy Kong with some weird nosed sailor hammering away Mario style at a scary looking Kong figure would not of persuaded me to part with my pennies back in January 1984.

Hexen advert from Next Generation Magazine from November 96.

Who needs an iPad with a pen when back in 1984 you could get this masterpiece of creation for a reasonable £24. The name is also even cooler "The Alphascribe Light Pen" - genius.

Ad for "Lands of Lore" which is a game that totally passed me by but was made by Westwood Studios. Taken from Edge magazine - issue 1 - October 1993.
Lands of Lore is a series of role-playing games by Westwood. The games take place in a fantasy world known simply as The Lands. It is populated by many races, the main ones being Humans, Huline, Dracoids, and Thomgog. The most civilized realm of The Lands is known as Gladstone.

An advert for Wayne Gretzkys 3D Hockey, by Midway for the N64. This was released in November 11th 1996 and was the first ever 4 player game on the N64. Cant say I remember it, but it looks quite good!

Assault Suits Valken, also known as Cybernator, is a 2D mecha action game developed by Masaya and released in 1992 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The second entry in the Assault Suits series, it is a prequel to the first game, Target Earth. The game was localized and published overseas by Konami.

Here we have an advert for "Curse of Enchantia" by Core Designs in Gamesmaster Magazine - Issue 01 in Jan 93.
Curse of Enchantia is a graphic adventure game developed and released by the British video game company Core Design for MS-DOS and the Amiga in 1992. The game tells the comic fantasy story of Brad, a teenage boy from modern Earth who was magically abducted to the world of Enchantia by an evil witch-queen.

An advert from Mean Machines Sega - Issue 1 (October 1992) for Our Price showcasing their "Game Zone" with a £3 off voucher. Do you remember Our Price? From memory it was not really a good games destination, although it might of faired better if it had had a bigger focus on this.

Microcosm is a 3D rail shooter video game developed and published by Psygnosis in 1993. It was originally developed for the FM Towns, and also ported for the Sega Mega-CD, Amiga CD32, 3DO, and MS-DOS. Microcosm featured realistic FMV animation, with the graphics being rendered on Silicon Graphics workstations.

An advert for Blaby Computer Games, in a very very traditional style. Taken from Commodor User issue 01 - October 83
Blaby Computer Games came into existence in January 1983 when John Bailiss, who already owned and ran a successful video business, realised the potential of computers, especially the ZX Spectrum. At the time there were few other companies in the field, producing games for the Spectrum, and it seemed like a good idea. Two enthusiasts, 16-year-old Gary Sewell and Gary Casewell submitted their ideas for John to market, and the result was three games, Gold Digger, Confusion and the popular Chopper Rescue.
