In addition to coastal flooding and some river/stream flooding, a Wind Advisory goes into effect this afternoon. West-northwest winds increase today, with gusts 40-55 mph this afternoon and continuing through Monday. Some tree damage and power outages possible, especially given the very saturated ground.

Spring is here! Chase season is near. I wonder what adventures are ahead!

I have been chasing storms for over 20 years now. Some years more than others, but I always hit the road for at least a few chase days each season. In all those years, I have failed to capture many photographs of me in front of a tornado. This is one of those rare moments. Brad Nelson and I made a pact to be sure to grab some pics of each other in front of a tornado...should we see one. And, WOW, did we see one! This tornado was on the ground for over 30 minutes. We followed it from birth to rope-out. Since we were just behind it, we could safely stop to photograph and film without worry of being in a dangerous position.
