Apple Agrees to $95M Settlement Over Alleged Sale of Private Siri Recordings
A class-action lawsuit accused Apple of maintaining private conversations recorded with Siri and then selling those recordings to third-party advertisers. Two plaintiffs claimed that they mentioned Air Jordan sneakers and Olive Garden restaurants, and later received targeted ads for those products. Another plaintiff alleged that he had received ads for a brand-name surgical treatment after he had discussed it in a private conversation with his doctor.
