Adada River resurfaced in 2019

Adada river located in Igboeze South Local Government Area of Enugu state.

Adada River, a landmark located in Ibagwa aka, Igboeze South LGA in Enugu state have been preserved by God for it’s cultural heritage value.

History has it that water from the river was used to build the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1960. It is also believed that the river disappeared few years after the war.

In 2019, after disappearing for over 4 decades, the river resurfaced to the amazement of the entire community.

People from far and near have been visiting the location to behold the wondrous river.

History do have it that the river dried up just a few years after the war.

Adada River has a rich cultural history of which can be harnessed for educational purposes by all and sundry. I grew up with the mindset that there is no River in Nsukka geopolitical zone aside a few in Agu Opi.

Igbo history.

HISTORY: THE ONLY FEMALE KING OF COLONIAL NIGERIA

Ahebi Ugbabe, the only female "king" (Queen) in colonial Nigeria. Ahebi was born in the later part of the 19th century in Umuida, Enugu-Ezike in Enugu State. She was the only daughter with two brothers. She could at best be described as a rebellious child who constantly ran away from home. She was forced to go on exile when she refused to marry a deity in order to pay for her father's sins.

During her forced exile, Ahebi became a s*x worker and used this form of work to her advantage. Along her travels, Ahebi learned to speak numerous languages, such as "Igala, Nupe, and Pidgin English. Her success and independence helped to redefine s*x work in Igbo culture, from servitude to a voluntary profession. Yeah right Her s*x work and linguistic skills gave her access to the Attah-Igala (king) and the British divisional officer, who not only facilitated her return to her village, but supported her claim to the office of headman, warrant chief, and, later, eze.
Ahebi was the only person in her village able to speak with the British. She replaced the aged (and increasingly incompetent) headman, who was unable to communicate with the British. She was made the only woman warrant chief in all of colonial Nigeria in the British Native court. British District Officer W. H. Lloyd said Ahebi was "a lady of influence and power. She is intelligent and of a quiet disposition. When she does speak, it is usually to the point and sensible."

Before Ahebi died, she performed her own burial rites as she did not trust that her society would accord her a befitting burial. She intended to perform the rites in such a magnificent manner that her society would never forget that an incredible being such as herself had lived. Her living funeral included gunfire, animal sacrifice, and glorious music of remembrance.
Ahebi died in 1948. Although she was a woman, she was buried according to the local customs for burying men.

I don't know what could have become of me without you.

I don't know what could have become of me if you were not there for me.

When I was nothing, you still care for me,
Stood by me and gave me so much love I never merited.

Today I want to say I love you so much, cherish you so much and I will also care for you all the time.

My people of Igbo eze south I love you all.
My people of ENUGU state I love you all.
My own people of ibagwa aka I love you all the most.

The eagle spirit

The only bird that dare to peck an eagle is the Raven. It sits on the Eagle's back and peck its neck . However, the Eagle doesn't respond or fight with Raven. It does not spend time or energy with the Raven. It just opens its wings and begins to fly higher in the sky. the higher the flight, the harder it is for the Raven to breathe and the Raven eventually falls due to lack of oxygen.
Not all battle you need to respond to. Not all arguments or critics you need to respond to or answer back. just your standards, they'll fall off! stop wasting time the Ravens'. just take them to your height and they'll fade away.
