The Brooklyn Nets took a 3-1 series lead on the Boston Celtics with their 141-126 Game 4 win on Sunday night, but it was the aftermath of the game that had NBA fans talking.

As Nets guard Kyrie Irving was making his way to the locker room, a fan threw a wattle bottle at Irving, which drew the attention of both the Nets team and TD Garden security. The fan would be arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Minutes before that, Irving was spotted stomping on the Celtics midcourt logo.

Now, the two moments aren’t nearly the same and shouldn’t be related at all. One is a crime and the other is a petty gesture involving a painted-on, leprechaun cartoon.

But there were some Celtics fans out there who put the logo stomp in the same category as the bottle throw.

And for that, NBA fans went on to mock the enormous overreaction to Kyrie’s logo stomp. You know, the same logo that both teams spent a couple hours running over.

Chicago rapper, G Herbo pleaded not guilty, on Tuesday, to a charge of lying to federal agents regarding an alleged identity theft ring involving extravagant travel and designer puppies.

G Herbo, who made the Forbes annual “30 Under 30″ list shortly before he was indicted on fraud charges late last year, was subdued and respectful during a Zoom hearing in U.S. District Court in Springfield.

His demeanor was a far cry from his posture behind the microphone on a song called “Statement,” which dropped in late December. The lyrics include calling federal prosecutors “dumbasses” and thumbing his nose at the charges. G Herbo, whose given name is Herbert R. Wright III, surrendered to authorities in early December — one of six defendants charged in the original case.

He pleaded not guilty to those charges and was released on bail.

The alleged ringleader of the $1.5 million credit card scheme was Chicago rap promoter Antonio Strong, who purchased private jet charters, yacht rentals, designer puppies and luxury getaways to Jamaica, according to prosecutors. The case is being prosecuted in Massachusetts because one of the vendors allegedly scammed in the enterprise is a charter flight company located in the Bay State.

Leaders of the scheme are accused of using the dark web to obtain stolen credit card information and using fake names, according to the original indictment.

Prosecutors tacked on the additional charge against Wright, alleging he initially lied to federal agents about his relationship with Strong in 2018.

“Wright falsely said he’d never provided Strong any money, never received anything of value from Strong and had no direct relationship with Strong. In fact, since at least 2016, Wright had received valuable goods from Strong, including private jet charters, luxury accommodations and exotic car rentals,” the charges read.

Wright attorney Jim Lawson told U.S. District Judge Mark G. Mastroianni that Wright well understands the new charge against him and the technical ins and outs of charging it separately in Springfield as opposed to Ohio, where the alleged false statements took place.

“Mr. Wright is an intelligent man; he understands the concept,” Lawson said.

Wright, 25, was raised on the South Side of Chicago and has risen to prominence as a Chicago drill rapper. He told Mastroianni he has rapped professionally for seven years.

The song “Statement” mocks the charges against him, including a passage that says: “But anyway, said enough of that. Let’s talk about this paper (let’s talk about it) / Let’s talk about them jets, yeah, let’s talk about Jamaica (come on) / Ask about me, I ain’t never been a fraud (never) I went hard from the start (the start) / In my city I’m a god ... .”

The song also says he scarcely knows one of his codefendants, “Joe Rodeo” and insults investigators for bringing what he argues is a flimsy case.

The next pretrial hearing in the case is set for Aug. 5.

Brooklyn Nets forward LaMarcus Aldridge retires suddenly because of irregular heartbeat!

Seven-time All-Star NBA LaMarcus Aldridge has retired from basketball abruptly after he suffered an irregular heartbeat during the Brooklyn Nets' loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, April 10.

The 35-year-old announced his decision on social media, saying: "My last game, I played while dealing with an irregular heartbeat. Later on that night, my rhythm got even worse which really worried me even more."

Detailing the support he received from teammates to get to the hospital for a health check, the 15-year NBA veteran center wrote: "Though I'm better now, what I felt with my heart that night was still one of the scariest things I've experienced."

Following the game with the Lakers, a 126-101 loss in which Aldridge had 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 blocks, his latest health experience has prompted a decision on his involvement in the sport that would appear final.

"I've made the difficult decision to retire from the NBA," his statement said. "For 15 years, I've put basketball first, and now, it is time to put my health and family first."

After making his name at the Portland Trail Blazers, he thanked them for "drafting a skinny Texas kid and giving him a chance."

Moving to the San Antonio Spurs in 2015, he said: "I want to thank the Spurs for letting me into the family and giving me 5 fun years."

"Last but not least," he said in appreciation of his most recent NBA side, "I want to thank Brooklyn. You wanted me for me. In a game that's changing so much, you asked me to come and just do what I do which was good to hear.

"I'm sorry it didn't get to last long, but I've definitely had fun being a part of this special group."

His statement ended saying: "You never know when something will come to an end, so make sure you enjoy it every day. I can truly say I did just that."

In a statement supporting Aldridge's decision, Nets' general manager Sean Marks said: "We know this was not an easy decision for him, but after careful consideration and consultation with numerous medical experts, he made the best decision for him, his family and for his life after basketball."

Neil Oshey, general manager of the Trail Blazers, said: "LaMarcus had a storied NBA career and his time as a Trail Blazer will always be remembered fondly. Any success we experienced during his tenure in Portland would not have been possible without his work ethic, dedication and talent.

"During his nine seasons in Portland, LaMarcus battled through multiple injuries and health concerns but never once allowed them to affect his commitment to his teammates and coaches on the court or the people that benefited from his outreach in the community off the court.

RAPPER DMX DEAD AT 50 AFTER WEEK ON LIFE SUPPORT FOLLOWING HEART ATTACK: FAMILY STATEMENT

Multiplatinum rapper DMX has died at the age of 50 a week after being hospitalized following a heart attack, according to a family statement released Friday.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, had been in "grave condition" in a New York hospital after suffering a heart attack on April 2.

DMX made a splash in rap music in 1998 with his first studio album "It's Dark and Hell is Hot," which debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The multiplatinum selling album was anchored by several hits including "Ruff Ryders' Anthem," "Get At Me Dog" and "Stop Being Greedy."

The rapper had four other chart-topping albums including "...And Then There Was X," "Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood," "The Great Depression" and "Grand Champ." He has released seven albums and earned three Grammy nominations.

His last album, "Undisputed," was released in 2012.

Along with his music career, DMX paved his way as an actor. He starred in the 1998 film "Belly" and appeared in "Romeo Must Die" a couple years later with Jet Li and the late singer Aaliyah. DMX and Aaliyah teamed up for the film's soundtrack song "Come Back in One Piece."

The rapper also starred in "Exit Wounds" with Steven Seagal and "Cradle 2 the Grave" with Li.
Over the years, DMX has battled with substance abuse. The rapper canceled a series of shows to check himself into a rehabilitation facility in 2019. In an Instagram post, his team said he apologized for the canceled shows and thanked his fans for the continued support.

Last year, DMX faced off against Snoop Dogg in a Verzuz battle, which drew more than 500,000 viewers.

The New York-born rapper has been nominated for multiple Grammy awards, including for the single "Party Up (Up In Here)." His bestselling album, 1999's "And Then There Was X," went platinum five times. All told, his albums have gone platinum -- sold 1 million units -- 14 times and his first five albums all rose to No. 1 on the U.S. charts.

He has also been featured in several movies, including "Romeo Must Die" and "Cradle 2 the Grave." He starred in his own reality television series, "DMX: Soul of a Man," on BET in 2006.

In 2017, he pleaded guilty to tax fraud, in what prosecutors called a "multi-year scheme to conceal millions of dollars" from the IRS. He served one year in prison.

Def Jam Recordings released a statement on the passing of DMX

"Def Jam Recordings and the extended Def Jam family of artists, executives and employees are deeply and profoundly saddened by the loss of our brother Earl "DMX" Simmons. DMX was a brilliant artist and an inspiration to millions around the world. His message of triumph over struggle, his search for the light out of darkness, his pursuit of truth and grace brought us closer to our own humanity. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and all those who loved him and were touched by him. DMX was nothing less than a giant. His legend will live on forever."

DMX'S Manager states 'STOP POSTING RUMORS'

DMX's manager Steve Rifkind pleaded with the public later Thursday night telling them to "please stop posting these rumors" just minutes after false reports of DMX's passing began spreading on social media.

"DMX is still alive. Yes, he is on life support, but please, it's not helping anybody by having them see these false rumors," Rifkind said in an emotional plea through Instagram.

"Let the family relax for a night, but you'll be hearing a statement from the family sometime tomorrow."

FALSE ALARM

" " started trending late Thursday night after unconfirmed social media reports claimed the rapper had died.

No major outlets confirmed his passing and no source close to the rapper commented.

Friend and comedian Luenell had led people to believe DMX had died, posting an Instagram story saying he had "passed".

She later apologized for the confusion, explaining that she meant - given his grave condition - "that's what I call 'gone'" and added: "I'm sorry to all ."

DMX ALLEGEDLY had a positive Covid-19 test as well (more on if this is true or not in later updates)!

DMX STILL ON LIFE SUPPORT!!! Hospitalized in White Plains after heart attack amid reports of overdose: lawyer

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Rapper DMX is hospitalized at White Plains Hospital Saturday night after a drug overdose triggered a heart attack, TMZ and Variety reported Saturday.

Murray Richman, DMX’s attorney, confirmed to PIX11 News’ Rob Hoell that he was on life support Saturday evening. The attorney had originally claimed that Simmons is off life support, but later told PIX11 News by phone Saturday night news by phone that he “has been misinformed and he has misspoken” and apologized.

Richman, an attorney for DMX who’s worked with him for over 25 years, spoke to PIX11 News Saturday evening, confirming that the rapper was in the hospital as a result of a heart attack. He could not confirm that it had been induced by drugs.

Richman said that DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is currently “surrounded by family” and in what he described as “grave condition.”

“I’m very sad about it, extremely sad. He’s like my son,” Richman said. “He’s just a tremendous person, tremendous entertainer, tremendous human being. And so much to offer, so much to say. Not the run-of-the-mill rapper. A person of great depth.”

Sources old TMZ the overdose happened at his home around 11 p.m. He was rushed to a hospital in White Plains and was moved to the critical care unit, according to TMZ.

Simmons was born in Mount Vernon and grew up in Yonkers.

Those close to him in Westchester are hoping for a miracle

“This is going to either be a huge testimony of his if he makes it. If not, we are at the end of the pandemic and what a way to go out,” said family friend Brenda Ramsey outside White Plains Hospital.

Not long after the published reports surfaced, rappers and other celebrities took to social media to wish DMX a full recovery. The phrase “Prayers to DMX” was trending on Twitter Saturday afternoon.

Because of privacy laws, the hospital is not issuing any updates on the rappers condition. They are not even confirming that he is a patient.

DMX made a splash in rap music in 1998 with his first studio album “It’s Dark and Hell is Hot,” which debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The multi-platinum selling album was anchored by several hits including “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” “Get At Me Dog” and “Stop Being Greedy.”

DMX off life support, breathing on his own after heart attack, lawyer says!!

The Grammy-nominated rapper's longtime attorney said he had little brain activity.

Grammy-nominated rapper DMX was taken off life support Saturday and was breathing on his own following a heart attack, his lawyer said.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was at his home around 11 p.m. Friday when he suffered the heart attack, his longtime lawyer, Murray Richman, said. He was immediately hospitalized in grave condition, he said.

Medical personnel at the critical care unit at a White Plains, New York, hospital began working on Simmons immediately and had to resuscitate him, he said.

"He was on life support," Richman said. "He’s been taken off of life support. He is breathing on his own but there is a little brain activity."

The attorney said he did not know what caused the heart attack.

"Earl is a sweet guy," Richman said. "Earl was a person who could tell such a story. He was a person with such depth. It’s a heartbreaker."

The rapper, 50, has opened up in the past about his struggles with drug addiction, for which he attended rehabilitation on several occasions.

In an interview last year on rapper Talib Kweli's People's Party show, DMX said his drug abuse started at age 14 when his then-mentor gave him a blunt laced with crack.

"He passed the blunt around and ... I hit the blunt. I never felt like this before, it f----- me up. I later found out that he laced the blunt with crack," he said. "Why would you do that to a child? He was like 30, and he knew I looked up to him. Why would you do that to someone who looks up to you?"

DMX, who got emotional during the interview, said he had never smoked anything before that night.

"I wouldn't do that to my worst enemy," he said.

Foogiano Arrested After Being on the Run From Authorities!

Foogiano has been arrested in Memphis.

According to inmate records obtained by XXL, the 1017 Records artist, born Kwame Brown, was arrested and booked at the Shelby County Jail in Memphis today (March 11). Foogiano has been charged with being a fugitive from justice without a warrant.

It's unclear why Foogiano, who's from Greensboro, Ga., was in Memphis, but it could be in connection to the memorial held for the brother of his 1017 Records label mate, Pooh Shiesty, who is from Memphis. Pooh's brother recently died from brain cancer, a rep for the rising rhymer confirmed to Voice Of The Streetz News .

Based on a report in the Athens-Banner Herald on Dec. 29, 2020, Foogiano was wanted in Georgia's Greenboro County after allegedly removing his court-ordered ankle monitor and disappearing for two weeks. Following his disappearance, it is presumed that a warrant was outstanding for the Gutta Baby rapper.

According to the local report, the 27-year-old rhymer was given an ankle monitor and ordered to stay in his home state of Georgia after being arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in Barrow County, Ga. on Dec. 6, 2020. The arrest was a violation of his probation stemming from a prior burglary conviction.

Foogiano was released from Greene County Jail on Dec. 14, 2020, after appearing in Greene County Superior Court on a $50,000 cash bond after violating his probation. However, a Georgia Department of Community Service officer received notice the same day Foogiano was released that his monitor was being tampered with. The Herald-Journal reports that the ankle bracelet was found on the side of a highway in Barrow County, Ga. with straps that appeared to be "melted off."

Greene County is about an hour from Barrow County, where he was initially arrested. As for what prompted the Dec. 14, 2020 arrest, a Barrow County sheriff's deputy apparently stopped Foogiano's 2006 Chrysler 300 for a faulty brake light and too dark-tinted windows on his vehicle. A man from Greensboro, Ga. was driving the car while Foogiano was a passenger in the back seat. Law enforcement reportedly smelled ma*****na and conducted a car search, in which they recovered a G***k 19 9mm pistol with an attached Viridian laser light near where the rapper was sitting. A large amount of money was found as well.

Once police determined that Foogiano is a convicted felon, he was questioned about the firearm and reportedly told the officer that "he said he is a famous rapper and must have a gun because rappers get shot."

Two other individuals were in the car: a woman from Mississippi and another Greensboro, Ga. man. They both were let go. The driver had a gun as well, but was not prohibited from carrying.

Foogiano, a rising Georgia rapper known for his hit single "Molly," released his project Gutta Baby, last year. Most recently, he appears on the track "I Know" with 42 Dugg and TG Kommas.

has reached out to a rep for Foogiano for a comment.

Milwaukee Police Department seeking city approval to be featured on A&E’s ‘The First 48’

The Milwaukee Police Department would like to be on TV, please. A&E’s The First 48, to be exact.

On Thursday, March 11, Milwaukee’s Public Safety and Health Committee will discuss a resolution “approving an agreement between the Milwaukee Police Department and A&E’s The First 48 regarding participation in a television production.” According to the resolution, “A&E’s The First 48 approached the Police Department with a proposal to embed videographers and producers with detectives in the Homicide Division for the purpose of documenting homicide investigations for one or more future episodes.”

MPD has confirmed the request. “The Milwaukee Police Department is seeking approval for an agreement to be a featured law enforcement agency on the A&E documentary television series The First 48,” Sgt. Efrain Cornejo tells Milwaukee Record. “We believe participation in the show will highlight the positive relationship between the community and the Milwaukee Police Department necessary to ensure justice for those who lost loved ones as a result of homicide.”

The agreement needs approval from the committee, and ultimately the full Common Council and Mayor Barrett. Alderman Mark Borkowski is the sponsor of the resolution.

The First 48 is described as a “documentary-style reality television show produced by Kirkstall Road Enterprises and distributed by the A&E Network that shows behind-the-scenes footage of real-life criminal investigations while following homicide detectives in the critical first 48 hours of investigation.” It has been on the air since 2004.

“Participation in A&E’s The First 48 would confer a number of benefits to the Police Department,” reads the resolution. “Episodes of A&E’s The First 48 featuring footage of Police Department investigations would document the Police Department’s commitment and professionalism while investigating homicides, show detectives’ efforts to seek justice for victims and their families, and humanize and present officers and detectives in a unique light to the local community. Other cities that have participated in A&E’s The First 48 have found that doing so raised the local police department’s profile while serving as a recruiting tool.”

The resolution also notes that “participation may or may not result in the broadcast of one or more episodes featuring the Police Department’s investigation of a homicide,” and that “the Police Department will not receive compensation for participating in production of A&E’s The First 48, nor does the Department expect to incur any costs associated with participation.”

The Public Safety and Health Committee will discuss the matter at its meeting on Thursday, March 11 at 9 a.m.

NICKI MINAJ’S HUSBAND KENNETH PETTY’S ALLEGED R**E VICTIM SAYS SHE WAS BRIBED TO RECANT HER STORY!!

Kenneth Petty’s alleged r**e victim claims she’s being bribed to recant her story.

The accuser is identified as Jennifer. She alleges when she was 16, she was r**ed by Petty in 1994, who was 15 at the time. In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Jennifer claims Nicki Minaj, and people close to the rapper, are allegedly trying to convince her to recant her story. Jennifer said, “I’m hoping for the truth to come out, and whatever comes from that truth, to let it be. After everything that has happened, it’s like, these people were willing to sacrifice me so this guy could remain in the public eye.”

Jennifer also claims her some of her family, who have a close relationship with The Pettys, turned their backs on her. She said, “I feel like my family was willing to sacrifice me.”

The Pettys have always denied the allegations. Back in 2019, during an episode of Nicki’s Apple Music radio show, Queen Radio, the “Yikes” rapper said Jennifer wanted to recant her story in 1995 but allegedly changed her mind when she learned she could serve jail time for filing a false report. Nicki also alluded that people believed Jennifer over her husband because Jennifer is white. However, Jennifer claims to be biracial, according to The Jasmine Brand.

During Jennifer’s interview with The Daily Beast, she denied ever trying to take her story back. She also claims she was offered $20,000, by a childhood friend who also knows Kenneth Petty, to sign a letter stating that she lied in 1994. Jennifer said, “I came outside and sat in the car, and he pulled out the letter and the $20,000 out of his middle console and put the money on my lap. And I held it in my hands, and I put it on the floor in the passenger seat. And I told him, ‘I’m not taking it. I don’t want it.’” Jennifer continued,

“It was like this dude, he really doesn’t give two s***ts about me. It’s like, d***, don’t you know I’m a mother of four? Don’t you know I have kids? These are things I’m saying to him, and to have him come back to me and tell me, ‘Well, you know how many girls can say that I probably r**ed them?’”

Jennifer claims she moved three times last year for her safety. She also says that Nicki allegedly contacted her last March and asked her if the incident happened. According to Jennifer, Nicki said, “Listen. I just need you to know, woman to woman, this really happened.”

The mother of four says the number has since been disconnected. Jennifer also says she’s been in contact with U.S. Marshals who said an investigation of the Pettys is underway and that they’ve found evidence.

In 1995 Petty was convicted for first-degree attempted r**e. He served nearly 4 years at a NY state prison and was required to register as a s*x offender.

YFN Lucci Released From Jail on $500,000 Bond, Strict Conditions!!!

YFN Lucci has been released on bond following his arrest for murder, can confirm.

The Atlanta rapper (real name Rayshawn Bennett) was booked into Fulton County jail last month in connection with a Dec. 10 shooting, which left one man dead and another injured.

An "exhaustive investigation" by the Atlanta Police Department labeled him as a suspect, prompting Lucci to turn himself in.

Lucci is currently out after being granted bail, with strict conditions attached.

In a statement from Lucci’s lawyer, his reps negotiated with the prosecution a $500,000 bond which was finalized this morning (Jan. 8), ahead of a bond motion on Tuesday.

Bennett was released shortly before 4pm. The bond conditions include that he must surrender his passport and wear a GPS ankle monitor, his lawyer explains.

The next court date has yet to be set. The state "will have to present the case to a grand jury if they so choose," attorney Drew Findling told via email.

In January, a video announcement from Atlanta PD confirmed that Lucci faces the charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and participation in criminal street gang activity as well as possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Shortly before surrendering to authorities, Lucci rolled out a new music video with Mozzy for their collaboration "Rolled On."

02/02/2021

: Silento, the Atlanta rapper known for his hit song “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” was arrested Monday and charged with murder in the shooting death of his 34-year-old cousin, authorities said.

DeKalb County police said in a statement on Twitter that the 23-year-old rapper whose legal name is Ricky Hawk was arrested in that suburb of Atlanta. The police statement said he is in the county jail, charged with murder in connection with the Jan. 21 death of Frederick Rooks.

The statement didn't elaborate on the circumstances of the death or Hawk's arrest.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Hawk was being held without bond late Monday.
