Did you know that as early as our 50s cognitive functions can start to decline?
But there are things we can do to keep ourselves sharp. And one of the best ways is to combine exercise with learning. 💪 🧠
Excited to share this video I made for Cognitive Health Calgary, showcasing their new program that combines boxing with cognitive tasks.
🥊 Where else can you punch a bag, work the pads and challenge your mental skills during a one-hour class ... with benefits are backed by scientific research?

With the first season's snow falling here in Calgary, I thought it was time to dust off one of the most fun stories I've filmed over the past few years.
Gary and his social media manager James take cat-skiing to a whole new level.

Remembrance Day commemorates the soldiers who never made it home.
Last year I headed to the town of Claresholm, Alta., to learn about the key role the town played in training British Commonwealth airmen in preparation for battle overseas.
Several Australian and British air force trainees who died during training are among the hundreds of soldiers buried in the local cemetery.
It was a reminder of the sacrifices made by so many .... gone but not forgotten.

Giving back to the community.
That's what motivated Tristan Black Water to join the Blood Tribe Police Service.
One of only three Indigenous Police Services in Alberta, officers like Tristan are having a hugely positive impact on the Kainai Nation.
This was the second in a two-part series I filmed/produced about First Nations policing in Alberta, and one of my favourites to have made while working at CBC Calgary.

Indigenous policing is community policing.
That's one of the things Cpl. Tammy Dodginghorse told me during my ride long earlier this year.
Indigenous Police Services like the Tsuut'ina Nation Police Service play a crucial role in fostering trust and understanding within First Nations communities.
I was honoured to spend a day with officers and am proud to share what I learned.

Curious what the life of a Fire Lookout is like in Alberta, Canada?
Meet Shane Turner.
A musician and self-described introvert, Shane gives us a glimpse inside his summertime gig high in the Canadian Rockies.
And he did such a good job explaining, Alberta Wildfire used the video to show the public the vital work done by fire spotters.

Wild horses have long been a presence in Alberta, western Canada. But many ranchers see them as nuisances and some want them off the land.
Wild Horses of Alberta Society, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to saving these animals and finding them new homes. They've joined forces with veterinary students from the University of Calgary to manage their populations.
Filmed and edited for CBC Calgary.
