Valve president Gabe Newell explained in an interview why Steam banned NFTs. Gabe said that the current development of NFT is too rough, and there are some illegal factors behind the scenes. Blockchain is an outstanding technology, but the current way of using it is too harsh, so you don’t want to touch it.

Adult film star Lana Rhoades has a massive following on social media. Still, her Twitter account was suddenly blocked after a series of tweets on Thursday hit back at accusations against her NFT project CryptoSis. Deleted, apparently by herself.

Some have accused the CryptoSis NFT project of being a Rug Pull, as the funds to mint NFTs have gone missing. Rhoades said he never has and will never deceive anyone. She will likely delete her Discord app and distance herself from the project. As of today, the project's Discord group is still active.

CryptoSis NFTs currently have a floor price of 0.01 ETH (~$26) on OpenSea, significantly lower than their original minting price of 0.1 ETH (~$261).

Rhoades previously regularly promoted the CryptoSis project on her Instagram account (which had 16.8 million followers) and her now-deleted Twitter account (1.5 million followers). Rhoades said she plans to do her NFT project "a lucrative investment for holders" and that her main focus is to "increase the value" of her NFTs. She also promises other benefits for holders, such as future exclusive Drops, physical goods, and direct interaction with them in the metaverse. But things didn't quite go according to plan.

According to Decrypt’s news on February 26, Marvel filmmaker Ari Arad announced that it would adapt artist Ben Mauro’s Ethereum NFT series of comics “Huxley” into a movie through his Arad Productions studio. Arad Productions is reported to be working with Web3-centric production studio Feature on the film and has brought in Oscar-nominated VFX supervisor Jerome Chen - co-founder of Sony Pictures Image Frames - to produce it. Huxley's film has not yet set a release date. However, according to a press release, the partners plan to release an interactive, Huxley-themed metaverse experience later this year, "on the way" with the film.

NBA star De'Aaron Fox said today in a series of tweets that his NFT collection, "Swipa The Fox," would be disbanded immediately, taking with it 475 user ETH worth roughly US$1.5 million.

The initiative, which went live on January 15 of this year, was "ill-timed," according to the tweets, because it coincided unexpectedly with the middle of the NBA season.

In the project Discord server, Fox offered "All Rookies" members (those who had purchased between 5 and 9 NFTs) a signed jersey, which currently sells for $75 to $145 on eBay. De'Aaron also promised to "reward" MVPs (those who bought at least 20 NFTs), though the nature of the reward is still unknown.

While Fox appears to be apologetic, it is clear that the 3,000 Fox owners are still angry about the lack of explanation surrounding the project's demise—and, more importantly, where all their crypto had gone.

A Texas man who unknowingly sold his BAYC NFT for 0.01 ETH (around US$26) is suing OpenSea, claiming that the platform was aware of a bug that allows hackers to buy NFTs at drastically lowered prices.

In a complaint filed in federal court, Timothy McKimmy claimed to be the legal owner of "BAYC #3475." He also claimed that he did not list the NFT for sale and that it was actually "stolen" from him. It was noted that the "buyer" immediately sold it for 99 ETH (worth US$250,000).

According to McKimmy, this BAYC NFT ranks in the top 14% in terms of rarity — much rarer than the one that Justin Bieber recently purchased for US$1.3 million. With this, McKimmy is seeking to either recover the NFT or receive over US$1 million in damages.

The Bank of Korea recently announced studying how to use the central bank digital currency (CBDC) to pay for various digital assets such as NFTs. The first stage of testing is to build a virtual experimental environment in the cloud disk and use distributed ledger technology to realize the basic functions of CBDC, such as manufacturing, distribution, circulation (remittance, settlement), and recycling.

The second phase of testing first examined the possibility of using CBDC in digital asset transactions such as NFTs. The associated function of using CBDC to trade digital artworks, copyrights, etc., that have existed on other distributed ledger platforms is also available.
