I carried this thin piece of paper in my wallet for over 5 years. I was in a job I was miserable being in. I had no opportunity for any sort of art or creativity. I hated it. every day. every minute. hated it.

it’s not always easy to say, and it doesn’t excuse terrible, evil things people sometimes are capable of- but i’m glad I experienced what I experienced then and there. it was the same path I find myself on today all along. this became a pretty significant mantra for me of, or what ever other word you need to receive it yourself. I hope you enjoy.

I believe you can pursue light and love while putting your hand to honest work that strives for inspiration through integrity. I believe it isn’t all about the money. but I need to make money to survive and support my family. I believe in myself. it’s scary as hell, sometimes. and definitely lonely most of the time. but I believe in this. whatever this is. I believe in trying. I create to understand. I create to heal. I create to be known. I create to be alive in each moment.

do what needs to be done. if it’s a sh*tty job for a year or two, just get it done. i’m not even saying you have to have a stellar attitude about it. I had the worst vantage point of my journey and it made me slip up a few times. but i’m ok. it will pass. if you don’t want to get “stuck” then you won’t get stuck.

i’m writing this down for myself more than anything. I can look back on this paper, remember vividly where my head was while scribbles these words down. i’m thankful for the experiences I have survived, overcome, failed at, struggled through, and the ones I haven’t gotten through yet. I passed this paper to a dear friend yesterday as I felt it was time to let her sail off into the sunset with someone who can carry these words and share them with all the people they are surrounded and loved by.

samples! easily one of the best feelings and moments in this vein of our career. there’s been hesitation on our end whether we should release the opportunity for individuals to purchase some of our foundational philosophy’s on provisions and other garments. currently, we have a few options in our shop. but these have mainly been experiments and tests to further understand production of orders, suppliers, and the in-between.

we want to continue being human-centered in all we create and set our gaze upon. one of the ways we are hoping to makes strides down this path is being eco-conscious with every step of our process. we are just in the beginning stages, so we have a journey ahead of us.. but our hope is to function as a recyclable and renewable alternative that stands in the face of capitalism and the destruct patterns of focusing to raise the profit as high as possible, no matter the cost.

there is also work being done behind the scenes to have a consistent river of images, thoughts, and ideas of BLKSPT. we aren’t going to post just to post. and we aren’t looking to fuel any algorithms. we hope to provide enlightenment, conversation, theories and hypothesis’, and words we’ve received from the future. we hope to illuminate and be a watering hole of light you can come and shower in at anytime.
