We've been a little MIA lately, due to real life. However, we've been able to settle down and begin working on getting content created, which was what we'd meant to do all along.

Starting in March, We will begin posting three different stories to our Ko-Fi page, each posted on alternating weeks, with a different short story filling in the last week. All these can be accessed for the low price of $5 a month. And, to see whether you like the stories, the first chapter of each will be posted for free for anyone to read.

We will be posting more about these stories in the next month both here and on our Ko-Fi page. So keep your eyes peeled for teasers.

In two hours, we begin our journey in the Empire of Xexatia, a country attempting to build its way back up after generations of ever expanding wars. The current king is a good man, concerned with his people's well-being, but there is something lurking in the shadows, waiting to topple him and send Xexatia's people back to war.

Join our ambitious party as they attempt to untangle who is behind this.

Some people leave behind them dramatics, others accolades or impressions. For Finley, he leaves behind him a trail of bewildered, vaguely frustrated allies who straddle the line between him being a kind man and him being absolutely impossible to deal with. Sure, they say, he came from a ranching background so he’s strong, but where did he even learn to wield blades that big? No one really knows, but they do agree on one thing: Finley is a good man with a kind heart. Just… try not to talk to him about anything intellectual.

Backstory:

Outside of the walls, are there even more walls? That was something Fina had been wondering for a good many of her days. She never really knew how fortunate she was when compared to lives outside of the walls of her owner's estate, and for her part she was never exactly unhappy. But really, there were rooftops beyond the walls, were those rooftops surrounded by stone? Did the other sets of hypothetical walls have gardens and ponds? She had all of those at home, so curiosity remained idle...until one day she happened across a large box in her owner's library, full of lovely watercolor images. Forests, rivers...waterfalls. Did these "waterfalls" exist beyond the walls? She had to find out. Surely nobody would mind.

Backstory:

As the daughter of a toymaker conscripted into the army of Xexatia, Sasha grew up in the war camps. She watched her small family waste away to nothing one by one before the war ended and was forced to find a way to support herself lest she follow them. At 13, she was on her own, trying to search for the rest of her father’s family, with no success. On the suggestion of one of the officers she worked with in the war camp, Sasha sought work with the information guild, determined to keep a careful eye on any events that might kindle another war.

Backstory:

Having grown up under the tutelage of the temple Eart, the Goddess of Unity, Anna has always felt drawn to bringing humanity closer together. Her parents died in the war, leaving her an orphan in the temple. Her greatest desire was to be one of the high priests of Eart, dedicating her life to serving a goddess who only wanted to bring happiness and peace to the world. When she was 18, Eart reached out and touched her, calling her to Eart's path directly. She has spent the last 3 years learning to channel her goddess in the hope to better spread her peace.

Hello everyone! Today, I'm introducing the first character of our upcoming DND campaign. It will premier sometime in October, although the exact date has yet to be finalized. We will keep you updated. over the next few weeks until the premier, we will be posting short character introductions.

Name: Seff Wolfchild
Age: 26
Height: 6'2"

Backstory:

Left at a very young age on the edge of the Myrkvidr, Seff was found by the lycanthrope pack that held claim over the forest. Taken in by the mate to the second in command, Seff was raised to be one of them in every way that he could. He played with the other pups, ate with them all, trained with them, and hunted with them. When the war came around and the wolves were called to action Seff was among those who served alongside his packmates. After which he went on to work with the information guild. Seff never shows his face or body and no one save for his pack know what his true origins are, he keeps them a closely guarded secret.

Hello everyone! Our page has been a little quiet lately. Unfortunately, our kickstarter for Vermillion Reports failed. This doesn't mean we're giving up. We will reorganize and figure out how to better present our project so it can be more appealing when we relaunch the kickstarter.

While we do that, however, we are putting together another project which does not require the same funding. Two of our founders, Tarale Wolffe and Ty Wolffe are planning out a DnD campaign.

Kevin Hummer and Deborah Landers will also be involved in the story telling as characters, and three others have already joined the team to help tell it. The story and characters will align with our goals, to create LGBTQ+ inclusive stories and characters.

Over the next month, we will reveal the story setting and world, and character art, classes, and background. It will be streaming via our official Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/littleredproductions. Our official launch is scheduled for October, though the exact day is still uncertain. We will be certain to keep everyone up to date regarding this new project. Additionally, as soon as we have decided the official launch, we will be certain to post it here, and send it out via our newsletter.

Hey everyone, as you may remember, when we hosted our Charity Live Stream back in June, one of our Milestones was 'Tara and Ty play a horror game.' Well, we passed that with room to spare, and we are finally delivering.

We have just passed Samea. Approximately half of those travelling with us have turned in another direction. It does not increase our own speed, as we still have the other half slowing us down, and I hear we are to gain more at the next city.

This is the most bored I have ever been in my life. There is nothing to do. No lessons to sit through, no books to read, as I have finished every single one of the ones I’d brought with me.

Jace has his job, and once a day brings me new information about those we’re travelling with, our next destination, the state of the roads, and the like. It is not particularly stimulating, and if I must put up with much more of this, I may arrive in Illicit brain dead.

Why a kickstarter?

Vermillion Reports requires many things to get it off the ground. Equipment, such as microphones and soundproofing, are reasonably priced. However, none of us have experience with editing, and as such, most of our budget is going to pay a company to do it for us.

Also, through the kickstarter, we are hoping to attain several of our stretch goals, which will bring you more episodes, and a better quality of sound. We hope to bring you the very best product we can, and this is what’s required to do so.

How did it come to this? This was never my plan. Even now, what I must do terrifies me. Somehow, I have become the hope of a world, and if I falter, we lose.

They’re looking to me for assurance. So long as I am confident, they have hope. If they lose hope, then Chaos wins.

I have succeeded, so far. Somehow. Despite the terror building within me with every moment I am awake.

My dreams are terrors anew, but I cannot tell is they are premonitions, or yet another way for my fears to terrorize me.

I have seen death. I have caused death. I have seen the battlefields between Bolzia and Chaos’ Empire, and yet my dreams give warning of something beyond - strewn with red and screams. *handwriting is shaky* and in many of them, I am holding Aiden as he bleeds over my hands. My magic will not help him, and I am helpless as he fades away, staring up at me while the war rages around us.

In many of them, we lose Beau, or Miles, or Tiberius, or Estelle, or Ida. And I am hopeless, frozen far away from them, unable even to go to them in their moment of need.

The nightmares terrorize me, and yet, in the morning, I must get up with the sun, and pretend I am as confident as the world needs me to be. Or else they may become reality.

And it will be my fault, because I am their hope.

Here's a picture of Margaret, one of our main characters in Vermillion Reports. She was born exactly 1 week before the final battle of the Red Wars. She was raised under Chaos' eye, and believes his view of the world.

She is the daughter of Redella Mayne, the Red Sorceress, but unlike her mother, she believes Love is a weakness. She seeks only to bring Chaos' glory to the world and to fulfill her duties.

What she finds is something else altogether more valuable.

Enjoy a picture of Melania, one of our three main characters in Season one of Vermillion Reports. She was born the princess of Varisvaara, a country where women had no rights. She was raised to always give way to any man in her life. Her Father. Her brothers. Her husband, whoever he may be.

With no choice in how her life would go, she stood no chance against a betrayal that shook her world. However, this betrayal also sent her on a path where she would become one of the most important people in Magic's Army. Helping the fight against Chaos.

And, while that betrayal has shaped her, she does not let it define who she is, or who she wants to be. She continues to fight. To struggle. To survive in a world that is far different from anything she ever imagined possible.

The ‘Damsel in Distress’ is a popular avenue for fairytales to take. From Little Red who occasionally needed a strong woodsman to save her, to Sleeping beauty and Snow White who needed Prince Charming’s kiss of true love, women have often played roles where they need rescuing. In Ivyis, this isn’t always the case, but there was a lot of thought and consideration that went into exactly how to change these classic tales.

Magic and Chaos are opposites. Two sides of the same coin. Where Magic is Love, Chaos is Hate. Where Chaos is chaos, Magic is order. Magic has rules, Chaos does not.

They come into being at the same time, in the same instant, in the same breath the world breathed. They are siblings at war with one another, and have been since the first time their views set them at odds.

Chaos thrives on the uncertainty of war, drawing more and more to him as the years pass, as hearts harden, and power blinds people’s eyes.

Magic thrives in peace, when people look to things other than death and destruction. Where love has a chance to flourish.

To destroy Magic would destroy her touch in the world. The love she gives human hearts, and the touch of magic many of them can command. This is the reason Chaos does not seek to destroy her completely. Those with magic are strong and powerful, and those he can sway to his side are strong indeed.
To destroy Chaos would destroy his touch in the world. The hate, and the little elements of chaotic happenings that make the world interesting. Magic does not seek to destroy him because she loves him as her brother, and killing him would break her heart.

But, it is not up to them. In the end, the mortals will decide which will stay and which will die. If their warring hearts can ever become strong enough to choose one over the other.

It is spring, a season which rarely fails to evoke a deep melancholy in me. It is regarded as the season of new hope, of growth and rebirth. The season of life and love and the bright morning after a long winter night. Spring was the season into which Margaret was born. It was also the season in which she died, shortly after her parents and everyone else who fell in the war.

Perhaps in that it was still rebirth. The world does stand irrevocably different because Chaos won. Spring became the season in which we lost hope, the time of year that best reminded us of our failures. Redella often said, “Without hope, we don’t stand a chance against the forces of hate.” Perhaps that is why my every attempt to keep the Resistance safe and together was doomed from the start; we did not have enough faith in our actions, enough hope in the outcome we most desire.

Hope has been a difficult thing to maintain in myself. In the early days, I worked myself so hard to be the hope others needed, to provide direction and comfort to those who were flagging. I gave until it exhausted me, and then I gave more. But while hope does not exist in me in finite quantities, I found it harder and harder to give it away to the same people.

I know that the world as it has become will not remain as it is. It cannot. Love and hate come from the same place. The truest thing about suffering is that it will end at some point, through whatever means it can. And this, I think, is why I cannot bring myself to hate spring for all the things it has stolen from me. Spring is the yearly reminder that the long dark of winter will end, that there will always be time to grow, to change, to be.

I had a teacher once on the road, the spirit of a traveling minstrel, who told me that the world always exists in cycles. I didn’t understand him then, not as he truly meant it. The cycle of seasons is obvious. The world shifts and changes, new things are born, old things die.

But people are not exempt from this cycle. Our minds and values shift over time. For now, many people are going along with Chaos because of the safety he promises. But that safety is conditional, and people will start to grow out of it again. I will wait for it, count on it. Sooner or later, that spring will come, and I will help cultivate that new growth when the time comes. I will live to see hope blossom again.

A lot of fantasy stories explore the concept of good and evil, and whether someone can be redeemed from a bad path. How that redemption might happen, why it can happen to one and not another, and the process someone might go through to reach it. Vermillion reports is no exception to this.

For instance, Margaret does not start out the series as a good person. She has been raised to believe in certain things, and that the world works a certain way. She believes it with everything she is. Can she be redeemed? Well, Melania certainly thinks she can.

There was some entertainment today. Our caravan got into town just in time to watch an ex*****on being carried out. Of course it wasn't as impressive as those seen back at the capitol, but what can we expect from these backwater places?

Still, it did relieve some of my boredom. And it was nice seeing our citizens so excited. It makes me wonder how Illicit will be, and how much work I have before me.

No matter. I am capable, and I will prove to anyone who doubts me that I am more than a match for this challenge.
