And because Dragon Age is one of my most favorite franchises out there, I was tasked to look into Dragon Age: Veilguard.

I'm going in blind here, without watching any gameplay, but I do know about the controversies surrounding it.

So, open mind right?

The verdict is in, and the score is final!

While the creators of the Like A Dragon: Yakuza live-action series clarified it wasn’t meant to fully reflect the popular video game franchise, it veered so far off course that it failed to work as an adaptation.

The characters felt unrecognizable, and the actors couldn’t embody their roles effectively. Kabukicho’s neon-drenched vibe was close to the video game’s aesthetic but still missed the mark in capturing its essence. What’s disappointing is that the actors weren’t even allowed to play the games or research their characters, signaling an intentional disconnect from the source material.

Because of this, we’re giving this adaptation a lackluster 2.26 out of 5!

SEGA has just released an exclusive interview with Munetaka Aoki—the talented actor behind Sanosuke Sagara in the Rurouni Kenshin live-action films—now stepping into the world of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii as the voice of Teruhiko Shigaki! 🎮

In this interview, Aoki delves into his character Shigaki, an ex-yakuza turned environmental volunteer on Nele Island, and shares his experience transitioning into the Like a Dragon universe post-Yakuza.
