Come out this Monday (2/26) for Honoring Nex Benedict, a community gathering and vigil honoring Nex and in support of LGBTQ+ youth. 6:00pm gathering at Rochester City Hall (30 Church St.), followed by a vigil at The Lab (125 Church St.). Folx are encouraged to bring masks, candles, flowers, flags and signs. ASL interpreting provided.

In my latest article on Linkedin, Marginalization of Neuro-Cognitive Minorities Costs Your Organization its Competitive Edge, I delve into the impacts of the latest global survey data on neurodivergent employee satisfaction which revealed companies routinely ignoring the needs of their neurodivergent employees.
"Imagine being disabled by the way the world has been designed. Not the natural world but human living spaces, schools, working spaces, shopping spaces, both in person and on-line, computer platforms, phone applications, medical assessments and treatments, intelligence and character tests, public transportation - any and all facets of human life, designed without a single thought to your needs or your differences from the majority. Needs are not wants. There are serious and sometimes irreparable consequences for human needs not being met. The accumulative impacts of long unmet needs are devastating and can lead to an early grave. Why would humans design the world for 80% of the population, completely disabling the 20% of the population that happens to be neurodivergent?"

Employers are routinely ignoring the needs of their neurodivergent employees and if they don't change now, the consequences will be dire.
