Being born in a musical household, singing has been a part of her life from a young age. She has been trained in various styles like Hindustani classical singing, Carnatic classical singing, Jazz and Western classical singing for close to 17 years now. Having a mother who is a trained Carnatic classical vocalist has had a huge impact on her musicality. She feels that music is more than just her career, music is in her blood.
Ever since the beginning of the pandemic, Bhumika started focusing on her own sound and originality. To Bhumika, melodies always come first. Disco Puppet aka Shoumik Biswas is a musician and visual artist.
They are part of Bangalore based collective, Consolidate.
Their sound is characterised by its irreverence towards the stylistic and procedural dictates of genres and their purists. This stems partly from ideology, but mostly from a tendency to get easily bored. Their experiments, though technical in nature, are always essentially human. Shoumik has been releasing music as Disco Puppet since 2014 and has played at some of the best stages in the country including Magnetic Fields Festival, F of X Festival, Boiler Room (Mumbai edition), The Humming Tree, The Habitat, and more. Internationally, Shoumik has been on a 6 city tour of China in 2017, played at the Kuwait Rising Festival in 2019 and most recently toured Bangkok and Vietnam.After receiving the TOTO Funds the Arts Award for music in 2017, Shoumik has released 4 albums and 4 EPs. Feature on a track with Zed Bias, released on Exit Records(UK).
To support the release of their 2019 album ‘Aranyer Din Ratri’, Shoumik designed and choreographed a theatrical show, which they took on a 3 city tour across India.
Love and Depressing (4th full length album) was written in the wake of Shoumik’s tinnitus and hyperacusis diagnosis in early 2019. A first in their discography, this album
was written entirely using guitar and voice.
In it, we see Disco Puppet’s process evolve into one that uses elements of their signature sound to add a more traditional approach to song writing. This results in their most approachable album till date while retaining a distinct sense of identity as Disco Puppet.

Mannequin Disorder is a Bangalore based Live Electronic duo, whose sound is often described as a combination of Disco, Funk and Electro Rock. Organic live elements and impromptu stage jams in their electronica outfit bags enthusiasm from various genre lovers. The duo had their exclusive EP “Tongue & Cheek” premiered on Rolling Stone India in Nov, 2020 and also received an overwhelming response during their EP launch gig at Bangalore. Robotic vocal patches, analog synthesizer sounds, funk guitars and quirky synth bass lines have made the duo's music replete with the character of Nu Disco and the cheerful dissonance of Psychedelia. The duo is working on releasing their next series of 'single's, which is expected by the November 2021.
Having performed anonymously in 2018 at several underground venues, the duo revealed their identity later that year as members of the established Psychedelic Rock ‘n Roll band, White Mug. In 2019, the duo gained popularity in South India, performed at various pubs, beach clubs and festivals and opened for renowned artists like Prem Joshua (Germany).
Their collaboration with two Poi/ flow artists has made their live performances an unique Audio-Visual experience connecting with music and dance loving audience.

DataBass A.K.A Sujoy Banerjee is an Indian DJ and podcast host based out of
Bangalore. He started off his music career by learning the drums and was part of
school and university bands before turning his focus to electronic music.
His interests in music started off in trance and progressive way back in 2007
where he first started playing at house parties taking inspiration from one of his
all-time favorite artists, Above & Beyond. Over the course of time, he has moved
on to discover and love disco, house, afro, funk and everything in between. He
has taken inspiration from artists such as C Da Afro, Todh Teri, Purple Disco
Machine, Hot Mood and Kevin Mckay to name a few while crafting his bouncy
groovy sets.
He also runs a monthly podcast called the DataBass Diner, which showcases
local and internal artists across the house, disco, afro space. He recently took this
property live to a club for the first time and hopes to bring a groovy, happy night
club experience to attenders.
He has also opened for a couple of big global DJ's / Producers such as Dawud,
Wurtz during their India tours. Over the last couple of years, he has taken his
sounds to a few cities across India.
