Curious to hear thoughts on the story below…

AITA…

My daughter’s father wants to get rid of his child support. He only pays what the state deems as his share based on our incomes.
He is supposed to carry medical benefits on her but doesn’t so my husband and I have coverage on her since she cannot go without. Additionally, we do not ask for anything above what he pays for instance we pay for all her expenses such as copays on medical, glasses, and will be paying for her braces when that comes, along with all school supplies, clothing, etc.

I asked if we were to reduce or waive his support how he would financially support her and he acted like this was the most outlandish question.
He does have 3 other kids and I understand they also need support but I do not feel like that should be at the expense of his oldest.

I know if we got rid of it through the state and needed any help from him he wouldn’t have it or would refuse to help.

I told myself I wasn’t gonna cry but when she asked if she could walk to the bus stop by herself (we can see her bus stop from our porch) I teared up a bit.
