Cowboys and aliens was a real head scratcher of a movie. It has ALL the ingredients for greatness: good actors, a good director, a good cinematographer, fun premise, etc. unfortunately the kitchen staff must have went home early because all we got was a big slice of forgettable pie.

As we reach the 4th season of Season IV:The season of four seasons, we turn our attention to those bad movies made by actors who are generally accepted as good actors.

The Mummy should have been great. It’s 1999 predecessor is widely beloved. It has the star power of Tom Cruise and Russel Crowe (and…Jake Johnson). It also has six credited writers. It has a novice director (not always a bad thing). It suffers from “setting up sequels syndrome”. Tune in to see if this caption missed anything.

Or that you could see these two captains of the Enterprise team up to take on Sting’s body double (Malcolm McDowell) in a poorly choreographed fight on the desert planet from central casting? You can have this and more in Star Trek: Generations. See Data get an emotion chip that almost immediately causes a malfunction. See most of the crew have almost nothing to do. See some klingons that are comic relief for reasons unknown.

Professor X and the gang are back at it again! When a mutant whose mutation is the power to cancel out other mutations(try saying that three times fast), big pharma is quick to synthesize his genome to create a mutant conversion therapy drug! Turns out the President is still a bit salty from that one time Nightcrawler tried to assassinate him, so the government makes special weapons to deploy syringes of the “cure” to fight rogue mutants (not Rogue specifically, but you get it). This doesn’t sit well with Dr. Frasier Crane, I mean Beast, who soft resigns from his cabinet position to join the x-men. A little more concerning is that Magneto and his merry band of ne’er-do-wells also dislikes this. Hijinks ensue. Oh and Jean Gray comes back from the healing waters of Alkali Lake, but she’s kind of lost her marbles. Oh and she kills Cyclops and the only person who seems to care is Wolverine who hates Cyclops. Yeah, this one is a hot mess.

We’re taking a slightly different approach to part two of season 4. We’re examining the worst films of major franchises. Are these films as “bad” as is commonly held? Are these films exceptionally bad?

Our first entry in this series is the much maligned fourth Indiana Jones movie. Russians and aliens and Mutt, oh my! With N***s and religious artifacts a thing of the past, Indy puts his archaeological skillz to the test to help uncover ancient alien future tech in the New World and picks up a family along the way!

But did you know that Todd Howard single-handedly led Hamilton University to a state championship in every weight class?! Since there were no rules prohibiting lycanthropes from competing (see, the 80s WERE progressive!), he was able to compete unimpeded. He may be a werewolf, but he never bit off anyone’s ear. Is Teen Wolf Too bad or is it exceptionally bad?
