Mahadev, also known as Shiva, is one of the most revered gods in Hinduism. He is often depicted with blue skin and is also known as "Neelkanth," which means "blue throat" in Sanskrit. The story behind this name is one of the most intriguing in Hindu mythology.

According to legend, during the churning of the ocean by the gods and demons to obtain the nectar of immortality, a deadly poison emerged from the ocean depths. The poison was so potent that it could destroy the entire universe. In order to save the world, Lord Shiva drank the poison, which turned his throat blue, hence the name "Neelkanth." This act of selflessness and sacrifice is just one of the many reasons why Lord Shiva is worshipped by millions of Hindus around the world.

But Lord Shiva is more than just a mythological figure. He represents the power of destruction and regeneration, the importance of meditation and inner reflection, and the ultimate goal of achieving enlightenment.
