Broadway Sydney is that underrated spot where shopping, food, movies, and random errands all collide.
Not flashy, but low-key essential — especially if you’re nearby or studying in the area.

Broadway sits on what used to be one of Sydney’s major industrial zones before turning into a go-to retail hub.

How to get here:
📍 Ultimo
🚆 Train: Central Station
🚶‍♀️ Walk: ~10 minutes from Central

Save this for your next city run & tag someone who always suggests “let’s just go Broadway” 🛍️

Sydney is bracing for a severe to extreme heatwave this week 🌡️

Temperatures are set to soar into the high 30s and low 40s, reaching the mid-40s in parts of the southwest. Overnight lows will remain high too — in the high teens to mid-20s, and up to the high 20s in western areas.

Heatwave warnings:

Extreme: Metropolitan Sydney, Illawarra, South Coast, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains, South West Slopes, Riverina

Severe: Hunter, Central Tablelands, Central West Slopes and Plains, Lower Western, Upper Western

Areas likely impacted include Sydney, Broken Hill, Camden, Dubbo, Gosford, Hornsby, Liverpool, Mona Vale, Orange, and Richmond.

Safety tips:

Stay in cool places: home, library, community centre, shopping centre

Close windows, draw blinds/curtains/awnings early to block heat

Use fans or air-conditioning if available

Keep hydrated and check on vulnerable people (children, elderly, pregnant, or unwell)

Avoid leaving children or pets in cars

The heatwave is expected to ease over the weekend as a southwest to southerly change brings milder temperatures.

One of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks has entered a new chapter 🚲

The Sydney Harbour Bridge Cycleway Ramp is now open — reimagining how people move across the Harbour while honouring Country, culture, and history at every step (and pedal).

For decades, cyclists had to carry their bikes up 55 stairs on the north side. This new 170-metre, gently curving ramp finally makes the crossing safe and accessible for riders of all ages and abilities.

But this project goes far beyond function.
Designed in close collaboration with Gadigal and Cammeraygal knowledge holders, the ramp features a powerful paving artwork by Jason Wing and Maddison Gibbs — two intertwining eels symbolising connection, movement, and the enduring relationship between land and water at this harbour crossing.

Every detail is intentional:
• Heritage-sensitive design respecting the Bridge and Bradfield Park
• Granite sourced from Moruya, matching the original pylons
• Bronze balustrades echoing the Sydney Opera House alloy
• New paths, crossings, a public plaza, seating, bike repair and water stations

This is more than cycling infrastructure.
It’s a thoughtful civic space that reconnects past, present, and future — and sets a new benchmark for how cities design with Country.

Does this feel like the future of public infrastructure in Sydney?

Sydney’s skyline is about to change — and so is the future of work 🌱

Rising 39 storeys above Central Station, Atlassian Central will become the world’s tallest hybrid timber and steel building, anchoring the city’s newest tech and innovation precinct, Tech Central.

Valued at $1.4 billion, the landmark project is being delivered by Built in joint venture with Obayashi, for Dexus and Atlassian, with design by SHoP and BVN. Completion is set for 2026.

But this isn’t just about height.
The tower is designed as a benchmark for sustainable construction, featuring:
• Mass timber construction to reduce embodied carbon
• A glass and steel exoskeleton with an operable, electricity-generating façade
• 100% fossil-fuel-free operations, powered by renewable energy
• Targeting 6-Star Green Star and 5.5-Star NABERS Energy ratings

Built above the heritage-listed Parcel Shed and former YHA, the project also delivers retail spaces, a new 137-room YHA, and an upgraded public realm around Central Station — blending innovation with heritage.

Is this the blueprint for the next generation of skyscrapers?
