Little Mel the Moon sits in on lyre practice. Decided to dust off Gwendolyn the harp and teach myself this song today. Her immortal wooden shoulders would not carry the weight of her grief for eternity (puppets never die). It would instead be fastened around her neck in a cascade of crimson.

All of my puppets know that I love them but I’m afraid it’s become glaringly obvious to them who I love the most and I fear for what will happen to me while I sleep. I made this tiny Nick Cave head almost 4 years ago (ouch…time, y’all) and even though it pains me to look at it because I feel like my heads have gotten bigger and better since then, I can’t bring myself to toss it out. He still tells a little mournful story of where I was in life when I made him. And if I ever choose to start him anew, his new self will tell a new story. Little pins on a road map. Sigh.
