Moratorium on New Games:
I, DJTopytopes, hereby swear not to pay for any new games until I finish all games released prior to 2017.

After which I'll add the same number of games finished to my library. Lol.

Seriously though, expect Backlog Gaming to be the most common stream this year. I have Xcom 2, Pillars of Eternity 1, Stardew Valley, Shadow Warrior 2 all lined up next :)

Welcome to the 5th episode of Backlog Gaming in 2022! This time, we're exploring a game I've tried to finish 3 times already: Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Steam Achievements Update:
-Reached 1,100 this month (+30 over last two weeks)
-Increased average completion rate by 1%

A lot of factors affect completion rate. Realistically it would be impossible to complete more than half of achievements on average unless you re-play games. I simply don't have the time or patience to do that haha, I'm struggling with my backlog as it is.

Also, there are a few titles which I'll likely never go back to, which will ultimately drag the average: Life is Strange (1 of 60), WWE 2K16 (2 of 55) and Risk of Rain 2 (4 of 112). I've also completed some games but they either have too many achievements to unlock or are generally just difficult to do (Civ VI, 45 hrs played, 13 of 307 achievements done).

One of the best decisions I've ever made: swapping out my main monitor from a 1080p@240hz screen to a 1440p@144hz.

In a couple days, I plan on replacing my 1080p monitor (as a second screen) for another 1440p one...guaranteeing more efficiency and productivity (at this point, I'm just justifying my purchase, lol).

But seriously, if you had a choice, get a 1440p monitor if you're planning to get one higher than 25". That way you wouldn't need to replace yours for another 5 years.

Dying Light is a surprisingly strong game that doesn't feel out of place in 2022. Really enjoying the progression...from being a coward running away from every zombie to becoming a silent assassin. Now I just need to get over my fear of going out at night!

It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but IV is a fine example of a modern real time strategy. Takes me back to the days when the best games out were RTSs like Starcraft and Warcraft III.
