This raises 2 very important facts about the music industry:
1. It is never too late to promote a song! Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” came out August 5th 1985 and was considered a flop shortly after its release. But she’s reaping the benefits now!
2. Sync licensing is king! Not only did she get paid for the song to be used on the TV show, but because of that show her song has skyrocketed to top of the billboard charts 37 years after its initial release!

If you’re an indie artist this should be a huge encouragement for you! Never give up on a song just cuz it’s not quickly received well and deep dive into sync licensing because it is a game changer!
