What is it that you want from life? In my view, you must DEFINE what you want out of life.
When I talk to my clients the first thing I make them do is define what they want, how much they want to make and a timeline to achieve their goals. What is your big idea of impact? This is like the GPS in your car, without a clear destination, the GPS cannot guide to where you want to go.
But........you must dig deeper.
You must define every aspect of your life.
You must define what your ideal day will look like.
What would you do when you wake up, how would you spend your time, what kind of car would you drive, how much money would you have in the bank, who would you spend your time with and what would you do for fun.
Your thoughts and ideas determine your action and your actions create the results. When you were a kid you used to think big, dream bigger and imagine all of the things you could do or become. Then somewhere along the line you got smacked down to what people call "reality". Reality is what you create inside of your mind, it's not what other people create for you!
Most people will live mediocre lives, will be unhappy, will complain about what they don't have and things they didn't do.
People always ask me "Ozzie, how do you come up with these posts and all of your content". I read a lot. And I read a lot of different things. I’ve been told many times … ”readers are leaders". Through learning and experience, I realized that all high level professionals in business, sports, art, etc. have mentors or coaches. At this point in my life I’ve spent thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars on training, coaches, personal development and mentors to get to where I am today. I can assure you that if you want to get to the next level, it's much easier to buy someone’s knowledge and have them show you the way.
I have my own coaching program, but I've become a better coach from all the products I've bought and the people I've surrounded myself with. To become the best at your craft you have to crave learning. Do the things you don't want to do- that is the definition of discipline. If it feels uncomfortable, you know that you are in the right path.
If you want to reach your goals you must be willing to do the things others aren't willing to do. That is why only a few people succeed and most do not. Stop buying your excuses- One of my favorite sayings is "Excuses will keep you broke". I used to tell myself lies and convince myself I could just do the things I wanted to and avoid the things that I feared.
Wrong!
Dreaming big is great, but you must get your head down and make s**t happen. I see a lot of people who are far more talented than me, but their goals are small. You won't reach your goals by thinking small. As they say, SHOOT FOR THE MOON and if you will fall short, you still land amongst the stars.
Take action; even if it is imperfect action, I mean, nothing will ever be perfect. My marketing isn't perfect, my sales pages are ugly and I've made some royal screw up's building my business. I don't spend hours trying to make my posts pretty, if I spell a few words wrong, I don't worry about the grammar nazi's, if I sound funny in a video I laugh it off and keep going and I don't try to make things perfect. You can fix things as you go. You will make mistakes and learn from them.
I spend a lot of time writing these posts, thinking about how I can help y’all more and how I can make your journey easier. My suggestion,… take the focus off yourself for just a moment and start thinking of how you can do more, help more and give more to the market place.
After you are done reading this get a pad of paper and DEFINE what it is you will achieve, what is your big idea, what are you willing to do in order to reach that goal and how you're going to impact other people’s lives in the process.
Making lots of money is the by-product, the REAL secret it's the process leading up to your goal. Strive for excellence in everything that you do. The way you do one thing is the way you do everything!
