Last night (around 3:00 am) she woke up and started to look for food. Her face looks different…like isn’t as full of life as it normally is. This is her 5th winter with me, and this is the first time I’ve seen her really get down like this. Makes me nervous. All of your comments were beautiful though (and some, very reassuring from some skunk parents). They made me feel so happy knowing she has so many people out there who love her as much as I do! After she ate she came to me for some pets and scritches…and went back to bed. She hasn’t eaten much today and hasn’t come out for her usual snacks…but many people say she might simply be in a heavy torpor stage. So skunks sleep longer in the winter, much longer, but they still need to get up to eat. She’s been sleeping for 14 hours. She doesn’t appear to be sick, but she definitely isn’t acting like her normal self. Going to keep an eye on her for a while and let her chill.
