A trip to Tawang valley is every traveller’s dream. A serene and picturesque town situated at a height of 3500 metres, Tawang lies in the remote corner of Arunachal Pradesh. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, conifers covered in snowflakes, dense forests, valleys, crystal clear rivers and frozen lakes, it is a perfect summer retreat for those who love the mountains.
Located at a height of about 3048m, is known for many important and beautiful monasteries and is famous for being the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso.
Tawang valley is bordered by Tibet in the north, Bhutan in the south-west and Sela ranges in the east. Famously known as ‘Mon-Yul’.
