Not sleeping? Here’s a hack. Here’s what I do.
I try to track as many parts of my life as I could, running A/B tests by removing elements, testing things or adding new ones. Sleep has bedeviled me. I’d not had a routine, never a predictable time nor sleep length and the level of rest I felt next day was always variable and, deep rest elusive. This test includes the addition of tea (particularly ‘Calm and Focus’ by @hims) and books!
I’ll share more via a longer video but what precipitated was simply me chasing that next morning feeling of rest that was rare. I added a smart watch and app to monitor my heart rate and sleep cycles during sleep, removed alcohol (incl. wine) and the setting of a fixed time - these, not enjoyable. What has been enjoyable is the addition of a step 1 hr before. It includes the turning off of blue light emitting screens (1 hr before), and the addition of a calming tea and reading (20-30 min before).
I opt for ingredients that offer a calming effect and lean toward anything that offers a healthful balance. Mushrooms have been a revelation. Lions Mane for focus and Chaga for that calming ‘ahhhh’ and immune support and recovery.
There are a number of products to choose from, find one you like. I’m particular to bold flavors and enjoy the cinnamon and ginger in this batch. As much as I am promoting @hims here, like anything I recommend, it is an active and beneficial part of this nightly routine.

4 Ingredient High Protein Crepe (Under 500 Cal)
This meal is an absolute treat when i end my intermittent fast. It is clean, simple, quick, tasty and also an excellent option as a pre-workout meal (2-3 hrs before you workout). All you need is 2-3 tblsp. Oatmeal (I opt for steel-cut), 1 banana, 1 tablespoon peanut butter and egg whites.
For extra flavor you can add a tsp of maple syrup and blueberries.
