***UPDATE ***
We have had an anonymous donor offer to add an additional $1200.00 for info leading to an arrest and conviction. That brings the total reward to $1500.00 cash!!!!!

In the picture we have pinned 13 areas where vehicles have been targets of of "Theft from Vehicle". Most of the vehicles were left unlocked over night which makes them easy targets for thieves. These thieves have graduated to busting out windows in order to retrieve items like purses and fi****ms. At one of the calls bicycle tire tracks were seen leading up to the vehicle, therefore, that could explain why the thefts are sometimes spread apart from one side of town to another. We encourage everyone to make sure and lock your vehicles doors every night and do not leave items of value inside and out in the open. If your vehicles are locked and nothing of value can be seen out in the open the thieves will be less likely to target your vehicle and/or property. It is that time of year where crimes of this nature begin to build up do to the warmer weather during the night and early morning hours.

We ask that you call the Police Department if you see anyone or anything suspicious or seemingly out of place.

If you have any information concerning these recent thefts we ask that you PLEASE contact the Police Department at 580-782-3382 to speak with an officer. We are offering a $300.00 cash reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the guilty parties.

The Mangum American Legion Auxiliary will be having a 5th of July celebration on the Courthouse Square from 11-2. The auxiliary will provide free hot dogs, watermelon and drinks. There will be a decorated tricycle/bicycle contest. The tricycle/bicycle riders will get to parade around the square on the courthouse apron. Each rider will receive a flag.

HOLLIS - There is a full day of events happening in the Harmon County seat this Monday, June 14. Mark your calendars for these events: Harmon County Commissioners meet at 9 a.m. on the second floor of the courthouse. These meetings are open to the public.... The county museum is having a lunchtime fundraiser at Boomerang Cafe on Broadway from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pulled pork plates come with sides and drink for $10... Hollis City Council will have a special meeting starting at noon at City Hall to vote on the 2022 city budget and apply for a grant for the senior center... Finally, the Harmon County Farmer's Market will be open Mondays and Thursdays from 4-7 p.m. adjacent to Stockman's Bank. Buy local!
