Photos of different men "in chains" uncovered in a shrine in Rivers state after native doctor was allegedly caught burying a three-month-old baby alive (photos/video)

Photos of different men and women "in chains" have been uncovered in a shrine in Rivers state after the native doctor who is originally from Delta state was allegedly caught burying a three-month-old baby alive.

Facebook user, Ununuma Bidemi Edward-Odoi, who witnessed the incident, said the incident happened in Edeoha,Ahoada in Rivers State.

''A Delta State Native/Witch Doctor who lived in Edeoha in Upata Ekpeye was caught burying a 3months old child alive and when confronted and beaten to confess, he disappeared.

On getting to his house/Shrine 100’s of pictures were discovered nailed, tied and chained, to different places.

Padlocks were in chains littered everywhere tied to people’s pictures. The dead 3months old baby was dung up, the angry youths tried all they could to burn down his building in order to set victims in chains free but the building couldn’t catch fire so they broke it down instead. So many items and unimaginable things were found there, and most of those whose pictures were found there are all dead in real life.

The good news is that, most of those blind and with stroke whose pictures were found there have gained their freedom as we speak, the blind can see and those with stroke are perfectly fine.''

A video shared online showed photos of men and women whose photos were ''chained'' in the shrine. The youths in the area were said to have pounced on the native doctor, beating him and leaving him with injuries. He was however said to have ''disappeared'' after some time.

''Wickedness Of Man to his Fellow man.

Yesterday, a Native Doctor known as Dr Mike Indian was caught while trying to bury a 3 Months old baby Alive in Edeoha,Ahoada in Rivers State.

The angry youths and villagers pounced on him heavily before he disappeared.

As they went to his house, they saw Photographs of people tied, padlocked and nailed in his shrine, most of them who were nailed are suffering strokes in real life.

The Youths Started breaking some of those keys and to the Glory of God, some that were tied in that shrine has started receiving their healing.

A serving Deputy Controller of Prison in Lagos was among those tied in this now broken evil shrine.'' Promise Uzoma Okoro, another eyewitness wrote

Bandits and herdsmen are ready to lay down arms, grant them amnesty - Gumi says

Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has continued to call for bandits to be granted amnesty.

Gumi said the Federal Government should grant bandits amnesty as they are ready to lay down their arms.

He explained that granting bandits amnesty would stop further bloodshed and hostilities in the North.

The controversial Islamic cleric spoke at the enrolment of the third group of students into the free orphans’ healthcare and education support programme organised by the Kawo Islamic Foundation in Kaduna.

He urged the Federal government to educate and provide bandits with funds after granting them amnesty.

He said: "If there is anything that can stop the shedding of blood, it is better just like what happened with the Niger Delta militants, they were shedding blood and vandalising pipelines, but where they were ready to drop their weapons with an amnesty that will take care of them, I think the same thing can apply to herdsmen.

"We have met them and they are ready to put down their arms, but when they put down their arms if you do not educate them and provide them with funds to take care of them, they will go back to the same old ways.

"Still, we call for amnesty and stopping all hostilities because we know how we can deal with it peacefully."

Dr. Chris Ngige, a former governor of Anambra State was reportedly kidnapped by a clique of political godfathers on July 10, 2003.

Senator Emmanuel Andy Uba has finally addressed reports that he kidnapped a sitting governor in 2003.

Uba is the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Anambra 2021 governorship election.

Reacting to the allegation, Uba denied being involved in the kidnap of Chris Ngige, who was a sitting governor eighteen years when the incident happened.

Dr. Chris Ngige, a former governor of Anambra State was reportedly kidnapped by a clique of political godfathers on July 10, 2003, and kept somewhere in Awka, the State’s capital for over 12 hours.

Years after, Senator Andy Uba, who was a close confidant of the then President, Olusegun Obasanjo and a member of the Uba family, holding a huge political relevance in the state, says he was never involved in the incident.

Professor Charles Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for the November 6 governorship election had described Uba as a kidnapper, accusing him of being involved in the kidnap of a ‘sitting governor,’ during a debate organised by Arise TV on Monday.

“About what he said about kidnapping…or whatever he said, I wasn’t involved. I’m not a violent person. There was a White Paper that came out [during that period]… how would you think I had anything to do with it? What are you talking about?

“I walked with the President of this country. I know about security…I know about security. Now let me tell you, for you saying that I’m involved…, I’m not involved in anything that has to do with kidnapping or anything.

“I wasn’t even in the country when it happened. I was outside the country when it happened and the call came through to me at 2:25 am and the person said he wants to speak with the President.

“I took the call to the President and he asked me to call the IG of Police which I did and the whole thing was sorted out. That’s why the whole thing was stopped. So how would I have been involved? If I was involved how would I have made that phone call?”

Arrest Of Obi Cubans Will Worsen Insecurity In Abambra-Nigeria Warns EFCC

Some Nigerians have warned against detaining billionaire businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana, who was arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday.

DAILY POST had reported that the Anambra-born club owner was taken to the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi, Abuja, Monday afternoon and was interrogated by officers of the agency over alleged money laundering and tax fraud.

The report which flooded the social media on Monday night, generated reactions from concerned Nigerians as many took to their social media handles to express concern over the repercussions of the move on the November 6 governorship elections in Anambra State.

Recall that Obi Cubana made headlines and became the talk of the town in July when he hosted an ostentatious burial for his late mother in Oba, Anambra State, in which over 200 cows were reportedly slaughtered.

The lavish display of wealth set tongues wagging, with many Nigerians wondering about his source of wealth. Several celebrities, businessmen and women, including politicians turned out in large numbers for the funeral.

The popular socialite subsequently became a role model to several Nigerian youths, including the Big Brother Naija, BBNaija 2021 winner, Whitemoney who aimed to venture into business with the hope of becoming successful like Obi Cubana.

Some Nigerians, particularly youths who chatted with DAILY POST on Tuesday morning, said the arrest may worsen the already deteriorated security situation in Anambra State.

An On Air Personality, OAP in a popular radio station in Abuja, Adeyemo Michael, a.k.a Mr Microphone, told our correspondent that the arrest is coming at a time when Obi Cubana’s state of origin is already tensed up.

He said, “This is definitely not the right time for this drama. You and I know how the business man is regarded in Anambra State with millions of supporters in the Southeast.

“If they fail to release him today, I’m not sure the governorship election will hold. This is definitely not what we are expecting from the federal government right now”.

Another respondent, a spare parts trader in the nation’s capital who identified himself as Ifeanyi, told DAILY POST that the federal government has just added to the problems of the Southeast.

He lamented that despite calls for the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government to free Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, the government has arrested another popular and very important citizen of the region.

“The IPOB members are commencing a one-week sit-at-home beginning from Thursday over the arrest of our beloved Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who has been detained in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, for just demanding for his right.

“We have not even finished Kanu’s own, now they have kidnapped another important son of the soil. This shows that this government is actually against the Igbos,” he said.

Meanwhile, a social media influencer, Adejor Kenneth told our correspondent in a chat that Obi Cubana must be carefully monitored, stressing that his sources of wealth is unclear.

According to him, Cubana’s ties with the embattled Inspector-General’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Abba Kyari who was recently suspended over alleged corruption should be investigated.

“Abba Kyari was sitting at Obi Cubana’s mother’s burial, spending money. Now, both of them are in trouble. He needs to be properly investigated”, Adejor added.

'None of us will live forever' - Queen Elizabeth says as she urges World leaders to "rise above the politics of the moment

The Queen has urged world leaders to "rise above the politics of the moment, and achieve true statesmanship" at the COP26 summit.

In a recorded video message, the 95-year-old asked politicians in attendance to create a “safer, stabler future” for the planet and paid tribute to her “dear late husband, Prince Philip.”

“It is a source of great pride to me that the leading role my husband played in encouraging people to protect our fragile planet, lives on through the work of our eldest son Charles and his eldest son William.

“I could not be more proud of them.”

The 95-year-old said the “impact of the environment on human progress was a subject close to the heart” of the Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April aged 99 after more than 70 years married to the Queen.

Her Majesty had been scheduled to attend the United Nations conference in Glasgow, but had to pull out at the last minute due to a health scare.

She instead pre-recorded her address last week at Windsor Castle after being advised to rest by royal doctors.

In the clip, the Queen said she drew “great comfort and inspiration from the relentless enthusiasm of people of all ages - especially the young - in calling for everyone to play their part”.

“In the coming days, the world has the chance to join in the shared objective of creating a safer, stabler future for our people and for the planet on which we depend.

“None of us underestimates the challenges ahead: but history has shown that when nations come together in common cause, there is always room for hope.”

She added: “It is the hope of many that the legacy of this summit - written in history books yet to be printed - will describe you as the leaders who did not pass up the opportunity; and that you answered the call of those future generations.

“That you left this conference as a community of nations with a determination, a desire, and a plan, to address the impact of climate change; and to recognise that the time for words has now moved to the time for action.”

“Of course, the benefits of such actions will not be there to enjoy for all of us here today: none of us will live forever. But we are doing this not for ourselves but for our children and our children’s children, and those who will follow in their footsteps.”

IPOB, ESN behind attacks in south-east - Nigerian Army

The Nigerian Army has alleged that the Eastern Security Network, an outfit of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is behind the recent attacks in the south-east region.

Onyema Nwachukwu, Army spokesman, said this on Monday, November 1, while briefing journalists on the ongoing military operation in the south-east.

According to him, Chukwunonso Iherue, leader of a gang allegedly behind the attacks on police stations in Imo state, was behind the recent violence in Izombe community of the state.

He said Iherue was one of the convicts who escaped when gunmen attacked Imo prison in April.

In May and August, police stations in Orsu and Oguta LGAs were attacked by gunmen who also killed officers on duty.

Nwachukwu said Iherue and his gang members were seen parading the community, flying the Biafra insignia on October 1, while threatening and instilling fear in the people.

He said when the army attempted to arrest him, he escaped with the help of some persons “until he was later neutralised when he engaged the troops with fire from his pistol in a frantic attempt to escape”.

“The group opened fire on troops, killing two soldiers in the process,” he said.

“In an effort to avoid civilian casualty and collateral damage in the community, troops tactically withdrew from the area.

“Unfortunately, the suspected IPOB members ran amok, setting ablaze houses and other property belonging to those perceived to be against them.

“A reinforcement team was deployed to Izombe and the security situation was immediately stabilised, while peace has since returned to the community.

“It was, however, observed on arrival at the community that the criminal gang also burnt troops’ van in addition to other public and private property.” the statement added

'You were a domestic staff who cleaned Obasanjo’s shoes' 'Do you have waec certificate? - Andy Uba and Charles Soludo throw shots at each other in election debate (video)

Anambra state governorship aspirants, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, and Andy Uba threw shots at each other during the Anambra governorship election debate organised by Arise TV that aired Monday night, November 1.

During the debate, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Soludo, claimed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Andy Uba did not do anything meaningful for his people when he was a senator.

Responding, Uba said he 'mentioned' Soludo’s name as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to Obasanjo.

“You were saying that in my eight years in the senate I did not do anything. What did you do? I mentioned you as the central bank governor. What have you done so far?” the APC candidate asked.

“You haven’t done anything. They brought you to me. My brother brought you. How can you say what you don’t know?”

Responding to Uba’s comment on the CBN job, Soludo said the APC candidate was not instrumental to his emergence as CBN governor, adding that Uba was a "domestic staff" in the presidential villa.

“I know Andy was a masseur in the US. He was a domestic staff in the villa, who cleans the president’s shoes,” he said.

“If throwing up my name gives Andy Uba a CV, then I will concede that too.”

Soludo also alleged that the APC candidate forged his senior secondary school certificate which was presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“You don’t have a certificate. You forged it. I will show you here. Do you have a secondary school certificate?” Soludo queried.

“When did you graduate? You have a secondary certificate in 1974? You had SSCE in Enugu? It is a forgery! Your history is here. I can show it to you from INEC.”

Halyna Hutchins' final words after being shot by Alec Baldwin on Rust set revealed

The final words of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins as she lay dying on a Santa Fe film set have been revealed.

'That was no good. That was no good at all,' Hutchins, 42, said seconds after she was fatally shot by Alec Baldwin on the set of indie Western Rust on October 21 before succumbing to her injuries.

Hutchins' last words came after lead actor Baldwin discharged a prop C**t .45 revolver that was supposed to be loaded with blanks but contained live ammunition.

'What the f**k just happened?' Baldwin reportedly asked cast and crew members after the shot went off, and Hutchins suddenly stumbled back into head electrician Serge Svetnoy's arms. Director Joel Souza also hit the deck after being grazed.

The actor had been prepping for a scene that involved him drawing and firing the prop gun.

'So,' Baldwin said to Souza before firing the shot, 'I guess I'm gonna take this out, pull it, and go, 'Bang!'

The actor then drew the gun, which he had been assured was safe to use by the film's first assistant director, David Halls, who told him it was a 'cold gun'

But instead of a blank, a live bullet flew out of the barrel, fatally striking Hutchins in the chest, and exiting her body to also pierce Souza.

The weapon used by Baldwin in the incident was one of three prop guns that the film's rookie armorer, Hanna Gutierrez Reed, 24, had set up outside the set location on a gray cart that was left unattended for hours, a search warrant enacted by Santa Fe police revealed.

According to a search warrant executed by the Santa Fe County Sheriff's office last week, Gutierrez Reed was the last person to handle the gun, leaving it along with the two other revolvers unattended on the cart in the early hours of October 21.

President Biden apologizes to world leaders at COP26 for Trump pulling out of the Paris climate agreement

President Joe Biden has apologized to his fellow world leaders at the global climate summit COP26 on Monday Novermber1, for Donald Trump taking the United States out of the Paris Climate Accord.

Trump announced the U.S. was withdrawing from the accord in 2019, though the withdrawal didn't take effect until November 2020. But after taking office in January, Biden quickly rejoined the Paris climate accord after Trump withdrew the U.S. from this agreement to reduce carbon emissions.

Biden at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Scotland on Monday said he "shouldn't apologize, but I do apologize" for the fact that the Trump administration pulled out of the Paris accord and "put us sort of behind the eight ball a little bit," The Associated Press reports.

During his speech at the climate conference, also pledged to have America help other countries financially when it came to financing climate change, arguing nations who caused most of the environmental damage should pay more.

'The United States has an obligation to also step up and finance other countries who have not had the opportunity to do as much damage as we have,' he said.

'Those of us who are responsible for much of the deforestation and all of the problems we have so far,' Biden said, have 'overwhelming obligations' to the poorer nations that account for few of the emissions yet are paying a price as the planet has grown hotter.

On Monday, an uncompleted 21-storey building located at Gerard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos state, collapsed with a yet-to-be-ascertained number of persons still trapped beneath the rubble.

Emergency responders were deployed to the scene and as of press time, three persons have been rescued while five others lost their lives.

Here is what we know about the luxury structure

The structure was designed as a three-tower estate (360° Degree Towers). The collapsed section is one of the three towers.

The main contractor for the project, FourScore Homes, is owned by Femi Osibona, a UK-trained estate developer.

According to Highbrow Living Magazine, the property, consisting of four-bedroom maisonettes, flats, duplex, and penthouses, was 65 percent sold out.

“The 20-floor strictly residential facility is the brain works of Fourscore Homes, evolving from a desire to build an original masterpiece. The price range for the apartment is said to be between $1.2 million and $5 million.

In an interview with THISDAY, Osibona said the project was supposed to be the first of its kind in Nigeria.

“This development will give peace of mind and comfort to the residents because everything works,” he said.

“We have exhibited our expertise in property development in the United Kingdom, South Africa, the United States of America, and Nigeria. Fourscore Homes possesses uncommon capabilities in redefining property development in any market we choose to play in.

Engineering company formerly working on collapsed Ikoyi building withdrew its consultancy service a year ago because it couldn’t guarantee the integrity of the building

Prowess Engineering Limited, the company that began the construction of the Gerrard terrace building which collapsed in Ikoyi, Lagos, withdrew from the project in February 2020.

A letter written by Prowess Engineering Limited to Fourscore Heights Limited shows that the engineering company withdrew from the Gerrard Terraces project in February 2020, on grounds that it no longer shared the same vision with its client.

Prowess Engineering Limited said it can guarantee the integrity of the first two building it constructed for Fourscore Heights Limited, but it couldn’t guarantee the integrity of the third building from anything above the fourth floor.

The third building is what ended up collapsing today, November 1.

The letter Prowess Engineering Limited wrote withdrawing its service reads: "This letter is to formally inform you of the withdraw of our structural consultancy service from the above named project. We arrived at this decision due to the fact that we no longer share the same vision with you as our client in terms of how the project is being executed.

"We can guarantee the integrity of the first two buildings and also work done up to the fourth floor of the third building supervised by us provided specifications have been met in terms of the required concrete strength. This we do not have control over as we do not have the concrete cube test results of each stage of the building till date. Also, note that we are not taking responsibility for any other construction errors that may have occurred overtime on the project.

"Furthermore, we request that our company’s name and logo be removed from the project board and also kindly notify all necessary approving authorities of our withdrawal from the project.

"We regret this decision and the lost opportunity to do business together. We look forward to future cooperation in other projects."
