Yeah I’m just gonna stay inside, enjoy my coffee, work on a video, and wait this terrible weather out.🫣 Anyway, check out this Hookcraft mug one of my buddies made! I was beyond surprised when he gifted this to me just out of the blue. He’s planning on opening a local pottery business soon so I’ll be showing off his stuff once he gets it going! I did pretty good jigging the kayak reefs the other day. I used a Nomad Design Squidtrex and the fish loved it. I noticed that the snapper preferred long, slow rips about 5-10 feet from the bottom while the red grouper like it pretty much on the bottom. Got one by simply dragging with a few small rips here and there. I’d say this is a great alternative option when catching bait is a problem. Also makes a good stocking stuffer. 👀

This was a grind. If you want a challenge, go find some sheepshead on a dock in clear water. They will make you cuss A LOT! But still managed to get some in the yak. Check it out! 👇🏼

Two Toe the pelican has been released! We found him pinned to a dock tangled in fishing line with a mag speed in his side a few weeks ago. Managed to get him to Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge and they fixed him up! Got to release him too which was an awesome experience! Please try your best to untangle any birds you may snag while fishing. It happens sometimes, but never just cut the line please! They just want some fish too!

This is what happens when you just cut your line after you got it tangled with a bird!🤦🏻‍♂️ CKW Outdoors and I rescued a pelican that was tangled up in fishing line and pinned to a dock. Found some sheep the other day and made me a sandwich! Glad they’re some early munchers before the real sheep season kicks off in the winter. 🙌🏼 For those targeting them for their first time, I’m using 15lb leader for a splitshot rig. #4 splitshot with a size 2 Owner Mosquito Hook and a fiddler crab. Let it fall along the structure to the bottom and wait. Keep just enough tension on your line so you can see that very subtle “tick” when they eat your fiddler crab. Instead of setting the hook, just reel down and that mosquito hook will do the work for you. 🤙🏼

“WADERS ARE DANGEROUS!!! 😱” We hear this a lot this time of year. They’re great at keeping you dry while launching and landing, but there’s a safety concern for some if you were to flip. I personally think waders are just fine as long as you have a good recovery plan, but I can understand other’s concerns. Here’s another idea! I used wetsuit pants this morning under some shorts,and I am pretty impressed. I stayed warm and comfortable all morning while still having full mobility to peddle and swim if needed! If you want an alternative to waders, this is it! Mine are 1.5mm thick, but they also make 3mm thick as well for colder mornings! Make sure you grab some neoprene socks too so your toes stay warm! Hope this is helpful! 🤙🏼
