In Season 6, episode 4 we chat to Candice about her son Emmett and his CMV diagnosis. Neither Candice, nor partner Isaac could have imagined the rabbit hole they were about to go down when Emmett failed his first hearing screen.

When CMV was first mentioned, neither of them had even heard of it and the barrage of tests that followed was overwhelming. Throughout it all they have been determined that Emmett will have all the support he needs, whatever form that takes.

Listen now at pregnancyuncut.com, on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts and look out for the little bonus info session on CMV at the end.

Our latest episode in season 6 is here! When Candice and Isaac took baby Emmett home from hospital after a couple of failed hearing tests, no one felt overly concerned. A formal audiology assessment that should have lasted hours went for a full day and showed permanent hearing loss on one side. mentioned in the list of possible causes was CMV which neither of them had ever even heard of.

What followed was a journey of tests, appointments and unknowns as they discovered Emmett's diagnosis and the full picture of what that could mean.

Listen now to the wonderful conversation between Candice and Kara including a bonus discussion of the complexities of CMV. You can catch it at our website pregnancyuncut.com, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.

We have been blown away by the response to S6 Ep2. of Pregnancy Uncut. Whilst Pip's family photo may conjure visions of a straightforward pregnancy journey, in fact this is far from the case.

Pip, a driven obstetrician had all the knowledge at her fingertips but her initial miscarriage and resulting IVF turned everything on its head. Incredibly she persevered, surrounded by pregnant and birthing mothers and now credits her experience with shaping her care of those women.

If you haven't got to it yet, take a moment this weekend to listen to Pip in her candid and open conversation with Kara.
Available at pregnancyuncut.com and wherever you get your podcasts.

In this episode of Pregnancy Uncut we talk to Pip. An Obstetrician herself, she always had a clear vision of her family and of the path she might experience to get there. But her fertility experience did not unfold in that way and instead her journey to family was filled with IVF, heartbreak, twists and turns that she couldn't have expected.

Pip's open and moving conversation with Kara gives us insight into how her experiences have shaped her as a person but also how they are now present in every aspect of her practice.

A Happy Mother's Day from us at Pregnancy Uncut. On this beautiful but complex day, we send love to all the mother's: those who are, who aren't, who were, would be, should be, don't want to be, can't be, near and far, in arms and in hearts, made and found.

We have a new episode for you this afternoon so make a cuppa, find a quiet corner and take a moment for yourself to sit back and listen. Xx

We're back!! Welcome to Season 6.

We are so pleased to be starting the season by talking to the extraordinary Kirsty about her journey from life-saving hysterectomy to becoming the first woman in Australia to undergo a uterine transplant. She went on to give birth to her beautiful son Henry after a successful pregnancy during which he developed in the same womb Kirsty herself had grown in.

Kirsty speaks beautifully of her experience and of the bond she and her mother now share after her mother donated her uterus to allow Kirsty to grow her family.

Getting ready to drop the first ep of S6!

Since we started Pregnancy Uncut three (!) years ago a lot has changed in the pregnancy and birth space.

We have seen a huge amount of positive momentum in the media and cultural landscape, as more women and birthing families share their experiences.

Every media article and every individual story shared is a step towards recognising the diverse range of pregnancy and birth stories that exist, and demystifying and destigmatizing these experiences.

The NSW parliamentary Birth Trauma Inquiry exemplifies the way that pregnancy and birth experiences are now coming out of the shadows, and their impact and importance is being recognised on a national stage.

Dr Alex and Dr Kara are absolutely thrilled to be back in the podcast hot seat recording and sharing more important and diverse stories from incredible women around Australia.

The first ep of Season 6 is dropping soon, and it's a good one!

Are you someone that has experienced pregnancy or birth- related trauma, or work in a space that cares for people affected by this? It’s time to have your say!

At Pregnancy Uncut we have been dedicated to unpacking and understanding pregnancy and birth-related trauma since the get go.

When we started this project, these were the stories, the experiences, the silent grief and distress that were happening to every day people but going untold

Fast forward three years, and at last there is a state government inquiry into birth-related trauma. A welcome and timely opportunity to turn your experiences and thoughts into potential solutions.

It’s easy to make a submission, all you need is your personal details (you can still submit completely confidentially), your experience as a birthing person, partner or care provider, and you don’t even need to live in NSW!

See the link below to participate before submissions close August 15th.

It's been a little while but we're thrilled to be speaking with on the latest episode of Pregnancy Uncut.

When baby hunger hit Alexandra hard in her late 30s it caused her to make a complete change in direction, ending a loving relationship and moving back in with her parents. After a series of bad dates, Alexandra made the pragmatic decision to go it alone using donor s***m.

Her book, Inconceivable, is a beautiful account of this journey and her conversation with Alex on the podcast was insightful and illuminating.
