Taking a moment to reflect on the incredible conversations we had this year, we'd love to thank our guests who so generously shared their experience and stories. Including our last guest of the year and of Season 6, pictured here, Dr. Imogen Hines.

Imogen spoke with Kara about how her informed choice became a matter for public opinion, and even vitriol despite it being the right choice for her. She also gave amazing insight into the ongoing gender inequity in surgical training and the structural barriers she has encountered.

You can catch this, and all previous episodes, at www.pregnancyuncut.com, on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. Keep your eyes peeled for a little bonus ep in January!

Merry Christmas from Pregnancy Uncut 🎶

Alex, Kara and our amazing producer/editor Anna enjoyed lunch today to celebrate another fabulous year of Pregnancy Uncut.

We are so grateful to our generous and incredible guests who bravely share their birth and pregnancy stories on the podcast, as well as to you, our dedicated listeners.

We continue to learn so much from each and every conversation, and we are privileged to be able to share these stories with a wider audience.

Congratulations as well to Anna, who has just completed her midwifery degree, and will be commencing work as a midwife next year!

Anna, your experience, warmth and dedication mean you will be an incredible asset to every woman, birthing person and family who meets you on their pregnancy journey. Well done 🙌🏼🥳

For our final episode of Season 6. Kara talks to Dr. Imogen Hines. Imogen speaks about her experience of gender inequity in surgical training and the unnecessary structural barriers that mean that many women are unable to fulfil their potential in their chosen field.

This is something that she is vocal about on her social media and as an orthopedic doctor with a public profile, when Imogen discovered she was pregnant, she put her research skills into action to determine the best mode of birth for her. However, when she announced her decision to opt for a planned induction she was surprised by the vitriol she received.

Imogen speaks openly about her decision, the public reaction and the media and studies that underlie those things.

Tonight at 7pm Victorian time, we light a candle to be part of . International pregnancy and Infant loss remembrance day is an opportunity to come together in memory of all the precious babies who are no longer earthside.

We hold those babies and their families in our hearts and hope you are being gentle on yourselves and each other, holding close to your loved ones and finding a moment of stillness in the rush of the day.
