Christmas is all about family for us.

When your family are geologically distanced or no longer on this earth, like our family, it makes Christmas time particularly hard.

A day for distance phone calls and quiet contemplation for those who are no longer with us.

However you are spending your Christmas this year, please remember your presence is far more valuable than any present. Value your family and friends for they are your biggest and most precious gift.

After days of chaos cancelling bookings and evacuating the caravan park in Byron Bay, where we work. We had to escape the cyclone and travel over 500km for safety. Now, we’re safe in Darawank, just north of Tuncurry/Forster. Thinking of our friends and colleagues still in Byron. 🌪️💔 #CycloneEscape #ByronBay #SafeNow

We started our day, with lunch at The Uki Hotel, with Kem's sister and brother-in-law. Then to the Clarrie Hall Dam, where we saw hundreds of teeny tiny frogs. Then, to Crams Farm Reserve (this place is a keeper), we can see a future with many relaxing picnics here. Last stop Nimbim in the hunt for special brownies. Spoiler alert, we were too late but enjoyed a sneaky drink and bruscheta before heading in our separate directions home. The best thing about living in Byron is the close proximity to family on the Gold Coast. #exploreaustralia #family #hippie #travellingaustralia
