Is there anything more Aussie than a man in high vis! 😉😁

Thanks to our friend Sherie, Tye is rocking a TradeMutt shirt around the boat yard. It's his first time wearing high vis since he left the workforce back in Australia, where he was a full-time tradie.

If you haven't heard of them, Trade Mutt are an Aussie workwear company and social enterprise founded by two mates with the mission to support mental health. 50% of profits go to TIACS, a free, professional mental health counselling service for tradies, truckies, farmers, and blue collar workers. On the back it says "This is a Conversation Starter", just a simple icebreaker to get people to connect.

Trinidad & Tobago recognised their Independence Day over the weekend, and to celebrate Rose went down to Chacachacare with Trent, Tye and Uncle Bruce, her FAVOURITE person in Trinidad.

It's the first time she's been out of the water since we were hauled out, so safe to say she was one happy little dog!

It's always an emotional moment when a man and his dog are reunited after a month apart! Our beautiful little boat dog Rose was overjoyed to see her whole crew together again, showcasing the incredible bond she has with her humans (especially Trent!), and making her one happy dog! If only this joyful reunion didn't end with a headbutt and a bruise 😂

After exploring Michigan for a month we're back in the boat yard, having fun with fiberglass and gel coat 🤪

At 4.30pm every day, a little face starts staring at us through the window. It's a sign that the count-down has begun, and within the next half an hour it's walk time! 🐶

One of the best things about hauling out in Trinidad is the easy access to Covigne Gorge from the boat yards. It's a great place to take Rose; she tears up and down the jungle paths before getting in the river anytime she starts to feel hot.

Being there for ourselves, it quickly became clear that our ideas about what it was like were completely outdated. It's just another example of why we love getting out there are experiencing places for ourselves. Soon though our time in the US will be over, and we'll be back on Liger, and more importantly, back with Rose 😁

Over the past week we've gone a little dark online, taking some time to focus on the boat and seeing Michigan.

Mornings tend to be spent working out boat logistics, with lots of back and forth with different companies, ordering, and dealing with shipping agents, as well as working online. The afternoons are usually an escape, getting out into the countryside and seeing what we can find around rural Michigan.

All that said we'll be back VERY soon with a new video! Here's a few behind the scenes snaps of one of the places that will feature; the Detroit Institute of Arts.

While driving between places we spent an afternoon getting our dinosaur fix at the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History in Ann Arbor.

It was an impressive collection of fossils that were clearly laid out with care, and as a bonus we could also take a sneak peak at the university's fossil preparation lab. This was our first time visiting an American university campus, and the first word that comes to mind is HUGE!

The most internationally recognizable city in Michigan, Detroit certainly wasn't what we expected!

On this particular morning we visited the Eastern Market, a 19th century market that's still a hive of activity today. It was filled with stalls selling plants, local produce, homemade treats and small goods, with a similar vibe to the Fremantle Market we have back home.

When our friend Sherie suggested we visit the Gilmore Car Museum in the middle of nowhere Michigan, we had no idea what an incredible experience we were in for! The biggest car museum in America, it has over 400 vehicles spread across a 90 acre farm. 🛬🚘
