The Mets fall flat yet again to another sub .500 team, this time 6-3 to the Rockies. Luis Severino was not great, but wasn't helped by his defense and the literal ballpark. He ended his night giving up 5 runs (4 earned) in 5 innings. His velocity was back to normal, even up, but he needs to be better down this stretch.

The offense had another, all too familiar, poor showing going 2-7 with RISP and leaving 7 men on base, It is not for a lack of chances but this offense has picked one of the worst times to go cold. Francisco Lindor had an uncharacteristic day, striking out in his first 3 ABs as J.D. Martinez was a rally killer, leaving 3 RISP with 2 outs.

The Mets begin a 3-game set against the Rockies in Colorado! Luis Severino will look to bounce back after a poor performance against the Twins. Severino has struggled in his past 7 starts, pitching to a 4.81 ERA. His velocity was noticeably down as well last time out, so that will be something to watch tonight.

The lineup returns to its normal setup, with Lindor-Nimmo-Martinez-Alonso as the 1-4. With the lefty, Kyle Freeland on the mound, the Mets are deploying their platoon bats with Jose Iglesias getting a start at 2B and Tyrone Taylor in RF. Luis Torrens also gets the start over Francisco Alvarez at catcher.

The Mets complete the sweep from May and clinch the season series over the Cardinals. Sean Manaea was fantastic yet again, striking out 10 batters over 7 innings of work. In his past two starts, Manaea has thrown 14 innings and truck out 21 batters. Ryne Stanek had a scoreless outing, giving the ball to Edwin Diaz to seal the deal.

The adjusted lineup was great, scoring 6 runs and going 2-7 with RISP. Tyrone Taylor had the biggest hit of this game, a bases-clearing double in 5th to cap off a 4-run inning. Jeff McNeil hit his 10th HR, Francisco Alvarez went 2-4 and 5-hole Pete Alonso went 1-3 with a walk and run scored.

The Mets make a pit stop in St. Louis to make up a game from May! It looms large as a win would give the Mets the tiebreaker against the Cardinals, who are 1.5 GB of them and 3 GB of the 3rd Wild Card Spot. Sean Manaea gets the start, coming off an 11-strikeout performance against the Twins.

Carlos Mendoza has shaken up the lineup, moving Pete Alonso out of the cleanup spot. Tyrone Taylor will man RF and bat second, moving everyone else down a peg. Brandon Nimmo and J.D. Martinez move to the three and four hole, respectively. Jose Iglesias gets a start at 3B after Mark Vientos had a rough series in the field in Anaheim.

The Yankees won the series in walk-off fashion! Cole had a solid start. He got hit around a little, but he battled through and gave the Yankees a solid start.

The offense was solid, with Judge and Soto getting on base four times. Aaron Judge was intentionally walked twice this game and four times this series. That can become a problem if teams continue to do this and the Yankees don't punish them.

The Yankees get the day off tomorrow, then start a three-game series with the Angels on Tuesday.

The Mets drop a pathetic series against the Angels, losing 3-2 this afternoon. Jose Quintana was shaky throughout his start, allowing 7 baserunners in just 5 innings of work. He was able to limit the damage, handing it off to the bullpen who kept them in this game.

The offense was absolutely inexcusable in today's game and the overall series. They finished this game with 9 baserunners throughout the game and went TWO for TEN with RISP, leaving 7 men on base. Multiple chances to tie this game and not one player in this lineup was able to step up.

They will play a pivotal make-up game tomorrow in St. Louis.

After suffering a brutal loss, the Mets look to bounce back and take the series in Anaheim. Jose Quintana will start, coming off an excellent outing against the Twins. Quintana allowed 1 run on 5 hits through 6 innings of work.

Francisco Alvarez is back in the lineup after sitting last night. The Mets could really use his bat to wake up during a time when they have struggled to cash in opportunities. Over his past 15 games, Alvarez is batting just .182.

Gerrit Cole takes the bump with a chance to help the Yankees win the series! He was scratched from his previous start but seems to be okay.

Gleyber Torres leads off, with Alex Verdugo getting the off day against the lefty. Ben Rice also gets the off day, with DJ playing first base. Outside of Ben Rice being on the bench and Gleyber leading off, there is not much to complain about with the lineup.

The Mets lose a heartbreaker, as they drop the second game to the Angels 5-4. David Peterson started and tossed a quality outing, going 6 innings and allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. Mark Vientos made two brutal plays behind him that almost directly led to both runs. With 82 pitches, Carlos Mendoza brings out Huascar Brazoban in the 7th with a 2-run lead, but after getting the first two batters out the wheels fell off fast leading to a go-ahead 3-run HR by Zach Neto.

The offense did not have a good night at the plate, going 1-7 with RISP and leaving 8 men on base. J.D. Martinez hit a go-ahead grand slam in the 7th but the bullpen could not hold on. The offense needs to be better and cash in on their opportunities.

With a win tonight, the Mets can win the series in Anaheim! David Peterson gets the ball and looks to continue pitching solid enough to give the Mets lineup a chance to win the game.

Alvarez gets the day off with Torrens starting behind the plate.

The Yankees beat the Blue Jays 8-3 in a team effort! Rodon was great and pitched significantly better than his line showed. He focused much more on being deceptive, keeping the Blue Jays (except for Vlad) off balance.

The lineup was great again, with Judge, Wells, and Volpe all getting two hits, and Judge and Volpe having homers. The only issue with the lineup is the lead-off hitter. The Yankees need to find some solution because Verdugo is not it.

The Yankees look to bounce back after last night's loss with Carlos Rodon on the bump. Rodon has been significantly better lately, and if he continues to pitch backwards, there is no reason that that trend shouldn't continue.

Gleyber is back in the lineup and batting 5th after last night's benching. Austin Wells is starting at catcher, even though he caught a night game last night that ran late.

The Mets start their road trip off with a win, taking the first game against the Angels 5-1. Paul Blackburn was excellent in his Mets debut, going 6 strong innings while allowing just 1 run on 6 hits. Also of note, his cutter usage was up compared to his previous outings. Jose Butto was fantastic out of the pen once again as Phil Maton threw a scoreless 9th to seal the win.

The offense had a solid night, putting up 3 runs against Angels' starter Tyler Anderson and 5 runs overall, but they had countless missed opportunities as they went 3-18 with RISP. On a right note, Pete Alonso hit his 3rd home run in five games, as Brandon Nimmo had himself a 3-hit day.

Marcus Stroman did not give the Yankees a chance to win, plain and simple. He gave up 7 runs in 2.2 IP and looked horrible on the mound. Speaking of Yankees that did not have good games, Gleyber Torres was benched mid-game after not running out what could have been a double.

For the good, Judge and Volpe had great games, with Volpe being a triple away from the cycle.

The Yankees can tie the series up tomorrow, with Carlos Rodon going up against Jose Berrios.

The Mets begin their West Coast trip in Anaheim with a 3-game set against the Angels! New acquiree, Paul Blackburn, will get his first start as a Met tonight. His last start as an Athletic, also against the Angels, was serviceable as he went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits. Blackburn uses 6 different pitches 10% or more, so it'll be interesting to see if the Mets make any repertoire changes.

Besides Brandon Nimmoa and Francisco Lindor, the Mets are running out an all-righty lineup against LHP Tyler Anderson. Jeff McNeil and Jesse Winker will head to the bench, in favor of Jose Iglesias and Tyrone Taylor.

The Yankees return home with their new additions from the trade deadline as Jazz makes his Yankee Stadium debut. Marcus Stroman will take the mound for the first of three games against the Blue Jays. Stroman has been struggling as of late, pitching to a 5.56 ERA in his past 7 starts, and pitched into the 6th innings just once in his past 5 starts. He'll look to bounce back at home.

The offense is hot, coming off a sweep of the Phillies where they scored 27 runs in three games, averaging 9 runs per game. With the righty, Kevin Gausman on the mound Austin Wells bats cleanup as Giancarlo Stanton abts 5th with Jazz right behind him.

The Mets drop the final game against the Twins, 8-3, completing a 7-game homestand at 4-3. Luis Severino did not have it today, only lasting 3 innings and allowing 6 runs on 6 hits, giving up 2 home runs. He struggled with command, missing his spots, getting into poor pitchers' counts, and getting hit around hard.

The offense also fell flat, scoring just 3 runs on 6 hits. Mark Vientos gave the Mets the lead with a 2-run shot in the 2nd but Severino would then allow a 5-run inning that the offense couldn't comeback from.

The Yankees sweep the Phillies, winning this afternoon's game 6-5! Nestor Cortes was solid today, allowing 3 runs on just 3 hits through 5.1 innings of work. The bullpen did just enough to keep the Yankees lead alive, including newly acquired Mark Leiter Jr. getting a big strikeout in a bases-loaded jam in the 8th.

DJ LeMahieu single-handily carried the offense today, going 2-4 with a Grand Slam and a 2-RBI double.

The Mets go for the sweep of the Minnesota Twins this afternoon with Luis Severino on the bump. Last time out, Severino was solid against the Braves, allowing 2 runs in 7 hits through 5 innings. He'll look to limit more of the traffic this time out. In roster news, Huascar Brazoban will be active for today's game, and Matt Gage has been optioned.

After playing in the first two games, Jesse Winker, Luis Torrens, and Harrison Bader will all head to the bench today. Jose Iglesias will start at 2B, moving Jeff McNeil to RF. Francisco Alvarez will start after missing the first two games with a sore shoulder. Tyrone Taylor is in CF.

The Yankees have a chance to make a massive statement and sweep the Phillies! Nestor gets the ball, and hopefully, he can pitch decent enough to allow this Yankee lineup to win.

For the lineup, Gleyber is back in the leadoff spot, with Verdugo being moved down to 7. After having the day off yesterday, Stanton is back in the cleanup spot.

The Yankees win a WILD game on what was a wild day. It all started when Gerrit Cole was scratched hours before the game, and Will Warren came up and made his MLB debut. Warren pitched solid, giving up four runs over his first two innings, but pitched 3.1 scoreless innings after that, going a total of 5.1.

Jazz was incredible, hitting two home runs, and having a hit in extra innings, with Gleyber Torres hitting a sac fly to score the winning run.

Absolutely bonkers game to win the series, and the Yankees can sweep tomorrow with Nestor Cortes getting the start at 12:35 tomorrow!

The Mets won the series against the Twins thanks to a dominant start from Manaea! This was his best start of the season, and it's not even close.

Vientos hit a home run, continuing his hot hitting. JD also had a two-hit game with an RBI. Not a lot from the offense, but they did enough to get the job done.

The Mets can sweep the Twins tomorrow with Luis Severino taking the bump at 1:10.

The Yankees look to get it rolling against the Phillies, with Will Warren making his major league debut. Gerrit Cole was scratched with "general body soreness" after not recovering right after his last start. Giancarlo Stanton gets a scheduled day off after making his return to the lineup yesterday. Trent Grisham will patrol CF as Aaron Judge at DH

Sean Manaea toes the rubber as the Mets look to build off of last night's win. Last time out against the Yankees, similar to Jose Quintana, Manaea was shakey yet successful. He threw just 4.1 innings, allowing only 2 runs on 3 hits but walked 4. After using Jose Butto last night, some length from Manaea tonight would be huge.

Francisco Alvarez will miss another game with his sore shoulder, as Luis Torrens catches his second game in a row. Besides that, the lineup stays the exact same from last night.

The Mets blowout the Twins in their first meeting, 15-2! In a night of standouts, including a big game from the offense, Jose Quintana was the biggest. After allowing a run in the first two batters of the game, he went on to finish his night, pitching 6 innings allowing just that one run on 5 hits. Jose Butto closed out the final three innings for his 2nd career save.

The offense exploded in the 4th for 6 runs, 5 in the 6th, and 4 more in the 7th. Every starter recorded a hit, as 8 different batters recorded an RBI. Pete Alonso may be turning a corner as he now has had back-to-back games with a home run and a double.

The Yankees ROUT the Phillies in game one of the series! Luis Gil's line may not be that sexy, but he pitched a lot better than it seems. Three of the hits off of him were under 80 MPH. He was topping out at 100 and looked untouchable at times.

The offense was awesome for the fourth night in a row. Jazz and Judge both hit two homer runs, granted, one of them for Jazz was off a position player. Speaking of Jazz, he looked very comfortable at third and made a lot of plays you would expect from a third baseman. Additionally, Volpe and Rice both hit home runs.

The Yankees can take the series tomorrow with Gerrit Cole on the bump at 6:40.

Giancarlo Stanton is back! This is perfect timing, as the Yankees are starting a three-game set against the Phillies! Stanton will be batting 5th and DHing, with Jazz hitting behind him, and getting his first career start at Third Base. This will be the first time Jazz will play third base in the Major or Minor Leagues.

Gil gets the start going up against Zack Wheeler, who has a near 6 career ERA vs the Yankees.

The Mets look to shake off their two-game losing streak as they begin a 3-game set with the Minnesota Twins. Jose Quintana will start, coming off an odd but effective outing against the Yankees. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits but walked FIVE. The walks could've been the game plan against the big hitters in that Yankee lineup, but he'll look to straighten those out tonight.

Jesse Winker is in the lineup, playing RF in his first Mets start since being traded over the weekend. Francisco Alvarez will sit as his struggles continue with a .584 OPS in his past 15 games and a .377 OPS in his past seven games. Harrison Bader returns to the lineup after dealing with a rolled ankle during the entire series against the Braves.

The Yankees take the series from the Red Sox, winning tonight's game 8-2. Carlos Rodon looked great tonight, striking out 7 through his 6.1 innings of work. The offense also got off to an early start thanks to an Alex Verdugo leadoff double and an RBI single from Aaron Judge! The offense didn't let up, scoring 4 off Tanner Houck and 4 more runs on the bullpen.

The Yankees look to win the series in Fenway, with Jazz Chisholm making his Yankees debut! He will bat in the 5th hole and play Center Field. It is worth noting that Boone said when he plays in the infield, he will play third, not second. It will be interesting to see if that is because of faith in Gleyber or a potential trade for a second baseman.

Rodon looks to build off an incredible start against the Rays.
