A decade ago the Robertson family lost the youngest of four sons, Lachlan, to oesophageal cancer.
Jason, Bryn and Scott Robertson were determined Lachie’s memory would live on. So every year they bring together friends, and friends of friends, to commemorate Lachie’s life and raise money for the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse. It’s called Brothers IV Brothers. Brothers supporting each other and their community and trying to make a difference. Through their annual lunchtime “extravaganza” they’ve raised in excess of $1.5m for the Lifehouse.
Over the years Drew Mitchell, Rod Kafer, John Eales, Phil Kearns, Matt Burke and Andrew Mehrtens have given their time to support the lunch and are now considered part of the family. This week we gathered again at the Blu Gum Hotel, this time with Justin Harrison the star attraction (if you don’t count Ted Sheeran) and managed to add another $110k to the tally. Good people doing good things for a good cause. That’s what it’s all about.

Hard to believe my mate Caine’s little dream “Gettin’ Crafty” is turning 2? 🎊

(Yes, there is a 20% discount at the bottom of this post, but we are not there yet!)

What started as a simple idea has grown into a business that sources the best independent craft beer in the country and caters for all beer enthusiasts. 🍻

The Journey So Far 🧭

👉 We’ve worked with 98 independently owned breweries to curate monthly subscription packs.

👉Excluding NT (which will be in packs very soon) all states and territories, including Lord Howe Island, have had representation in our packs.

👉 Many of the beers we’ve stocked have been award-winning at the AIBA awards! We’ve seen 4 brews win the best beer in their category, 3 got the gong of Consistency of Excellence, Gold Medals x 26, Silver Medals x 50, and Bronze Medals x 49 - we only supply the best!

👉In excess of 450 different beers have been included across our 4 subscriptions.

👉 Almost 100,000 cans of beer delivered!

👉 The number of beers sampled by Caino our Chief Beer Officer - unknown.

👉 Shipping monthly packs to Far North Queensland, down to Tassie, over to WA and everywhere in between.

👉With the assistance from our mates at Rocks Brewing, produced our very own beers, Lindfield Lager and Old Soldier Session Ale for Lindfield Rugby Club

We have some bold plans;

👉 June - the Best of the Wagon, an alcohol-free pack delivered to your door just in time for Dry July
👉 July - Darkness of Winter, a pack consisting of stouts and porters
👉 Sporting promotions based around the Ashes, Women’s FIFA World Cup and the Rugby World Cup

A privilege to be talking to students at Knox Grammar School about my work as an ambassador for and how they can make a difference. Not just on but everyday. While year 9 boys are raising money for the shelter, and will continue that work as part of an ongoing program, there is much more to do.
