I planned my trek in the month of October 2019 for doing #trekking in winter. Finally date arrived 20 Dec 2019 and journey of himalayas started from Bangalore via train to Nainital. Once reaching Nainital, actual #mountains journey started with excitement of viewing himalayas. First time I was going to experience it. It was a beautiful Jalebi road (incremental circular road with sharp turns ). My one side #Himalayan #rivers were flowing, on the other sides big mountains were standing. I got first glimpse of himalayas in #kausani. From there on it was playing hide n seek me. Finally reached our basecamp lohajung after this beautiful but tiring journey. Met with our trek leader @memory_shutter, who is such a good energetic guy made for #Himalayas, great leadership. We were in a group of 21 people in a batch who were ready to trek for #brahmatal. Most of us were beginners who had come on winter trek to experience snow. Fortunately two days before there was a heavy snowfall and we got to experience it. But this made our trek a tough task, but possible.
Very next day morning our journey started with a warmup and briefing on safety and trek ethics. Finally we started our #trek with full energy. We started from 7650 ft altitude and reached Bekaltal at 9689 ft on day one. It was full of #snow around 2-2.5 feet deep hard snow, oak trees, trekking path full of hard snow. We were trekking on the path paved of hard snow. It was new experience for me, a challenge and physical reality check for myself. Finally reached Bekaltal camp. One milestone achieved. We took rest for one hour, had delicious snacks provided by @indiahikes with evening tea. Now was the time to visit the #lake ,which this place has been named on. #bekaltal. The way was full of snow, almost closed full of deep snow. But it was worth going through it to see such a beautiful serene frozen lake surrounded by big oak trees. The rays of sun falling on the #frozen lake making it glow like a pearl. It was like a tre
