Tired after work. Four steps. 4 Steps Quickly regain energy.
Step 1: Take a shower as soon as you get home.
Are you the kind of person who, upon returning home, is so tired that you don't feel like moving, and you end up lying on the couch, scrolling through your phone, or watching TV? And the more you watch, the more tired you become? Try taking a shower as soon as you get home, allowing yourself to enter a comfortable state as early as possible and providing immediate relief to your body and mind.
Step 2: Let your mind also "clock out."
Remove work-related emails and messaging apps from your phone, or at the very least, turn off notifications. If you need to discuss work matters with people around you, make an agreement with yourself not to do so after 7 PM. Realize that if you continue to focus on work-related matters, it will only deplete your energy. Set a boundary to protect your time and mental well-being.
Step 3: Meditate for ten minutes.
The purpose of meditation is to redirect your focus back to yourself, practice living in the present moment, stop mental fatigue, and allow your mind to experience deep rest, almost like the concept of resetting your brain. Find a quiet place, engage in your favorite meditation practice, or simply practice quiet breathing. Even if it's only for ten minutes, it can significantly rejuvenate your mind.
Step 4: Do what you want to do first.
Do you find yourself doing the same thing, staying up late with your phone, watching shows, or shopping online just before bedtime? It's because you feel that it's the only time you have a little control over your life, a bit of freedom. You know it's not good, but you can't stop, and as a result, you end up even more tired the next day in a vicious cycle. Ask yourself, what did you do tonight that would make you go to sleep feeling fulfilled? Then, prioritize your time after work for yourself, rearrange other commitments and unnecessary requests. Recognize the need to be selfish with your time and well-being, and this is something that cannot be negotiated.
