Yesterday while washing my clothes this afternoon, I remembered a big mistake I made in the early days of my business in regards to funds 😂.
Wait a minute, let’s take a break 😌. What exactly happened that made me remember this incidents.
While washing my clothes, I saw grants and funding opportunities that I could apply, but after reading through, I realized within me that I was either not ready for this or it’s not for me. Then the flash back happened.
Like what happened to me? Am I still the same person that was looking for investors back then when I had just started my business? 😂. I remember back then I found one that made me bleed arm and legs of money. This person was not at fault though, na me cause am. Na me go promise wetin I no fit do 🤷🏿♀️. And sadly because I had made a promise (though no contract binding it), I knew I had to fulfil that promise even though I had realized later on that it was a bad deal.
I had to look for a way to break the deal because I was giving a lot from my business. Luckily the amount in question is not A HUGE amount though, but it was huge for my business then as it was just evolving.
But I blame myself sha 😂. Why and how you may ask, let me tell you.
I failed to to my research and gather knowledge before entering into things like this. One huge take home from this experience is that, before I made any decision or start any idea, I sit down, read about it, pay for course if the needs arises and I can afford it, apply it to my personal life, before bringing it to my business.
This year, I’ve been doing a lot of experiment with my money this year. You don’t believe right 😂? but it’s the truth. My personal money though. It has made me to be very frugal with my business money because my eyes 👀 are set in something big right now smile.
Ok, enough about me. Now it’s your turn 😊. What’s that business lesson/experience that has happened to you and you can never forget it? Share it with me in the comment section 😜
Shalom ✌️
